I bought 2 3rd party controllers for $7 three years back, anticipating a GC purchase that never happened. Will the Rev play nice with wired controllers?

Yes, the Revolution has 4 Gamecube ports and 2 gamecube memory card slots on the side.

Yep. All indicators are pointing to the ability to use GC controllers for your old games on it. Of course, why you would want to use 3rd party controllers is beyond me (Wavebird damnit!), but to each his own.

Yes, but not for Revolution specifc games. It's been confirmed that you can use them to play GCN games, confirmed that you CAN'T use it for Revolution-specific games, and assumed that you can use it to play classic virtual console games.

What other tidbits were confirmed? Can you post a link to the story?

Thanks, Dane.

Yep! Anyone know whether or not the Wavebirds will work in the system? Looking at the unit, it seems like there might not be enough room to fir a receiver on there. I suppose if the shell for the controller is wavebird-esque, it won't matter much, but I have 3 wavebirds! ;)

If it takes a wired controller, I see no reason why a wavebird wouldn't work. At worst, if it's designed so tightly that the wavebird receiver doesn't even fit, you can still use an extender on your wavebird receiver.
