So yeah I am sure you all know the price of the game at Game Stop. Thing is, I got a mint just like new game. So for a little over $28 I got a pretty cool game that is uncommon.

I don't think its uncommon anymore... this game is at every EB / Gamestop I go to, in mint like new condition.

It was reprinted 6-10 months ago. Seems like only GS carrys it.

Aye sir. When I got a copy on my birthday last September, it was more than likely a reprint, as everyone at the time told me when I posted about it.

Chances are you saw it aside a Persona 2, Saiyuki, Breath of Fire IV, and possibly Street Fighter Puzzle II, eh?

Always a good catch though, so congrats!

The funny thing is that is probably is "new". GameStop just rips these games open and sells tham at the "used" price. This is also likely done to minimize returns since they are "used" instead of sealed.

Is this a regular RPG or is it strategy?

My local EB has 6 preowneds.. my Gamestop has 5, and the EB in that mall has 8 preowned copies.. so it's severely common now.

EB's carrying it too, at least most of the ones I've been too. I really want Persona 2, Rhapsody I don't care that much about, but with this glut of reprints out there, I'm sure the prices are going to drop soon. From what I gather, Rhapsody was only pricy because it was rare, without the rarity it's just a crappy RPG (or so I've heard).

Mine only had 1. Also the store I go to is probably the worst GS ever.

gamequestdirect pays the publisher to reprint the game and give it to them to sell on their website. what they also do is sell tons of these reprints to gamestop and ebgames. they are brand new factory sealed games but once gamestop or eb gets them they get torn open and sold as used. i don't remember why they do this. i think it was because the used price is higher than the new price in their systems. could be wrong though.

go to any gamestop or eb nowadays and you'll see both rhapsody and persona 2 in the used section. most of the time the case is still glossy and all the time the discs are completely brand new.

This is confirmed. I now see Persona 2 as well as Rhapsody at Gamestops everywhere in perfect mint condition....an excellent trade-in? I think not.
