Demo Coming Soon.
While recently attending the EA Community Day for Superman Returns, TalkXbox has received word that Tiburon is planning on a demo of the game through Xbox Live. No guarantee as of yet on if it will be up prior to its release date, but we are crossing our fingers that it makes it out on Xbox Live Marketplace in the near future. When questioned, an EA representative stated, "We are putting our resources into putting the demo on Xbox Live and we hope to finish it before the game ships. It's all up to Microsoft's Xbox Live team and their approval."

Just quote it as I see it. Not everyone suscribes to GI and clicking on the pic should take you to the high res image. Its a first for me as Im sure it is to others. In the words of NBC: "If I havent seen it, its new to me"

i heard you are invincible in the game, but you gotta prevent damage to people and buildings, which is at least an interesting idea, compared to Supes being killed by random thug 6

It scored in the 60% range but I found Superman: Shadow of Apokolips to be pretty fun. This render certainly looks nice. If only the gameplay and the final product was that sweet. If it is I'll buy a 360.

Wow...
I never knew I would say this, but I may buy a 360 pretty soon if these EA games turn out good. Battlefield 2, Burnout Revenge, and now this game all look like they will be great games.

I'm actually looking forward to it. I just hope it is a good combination of the GTA series and Spiderman Movie franchise.

Why do they keep releasing these to the public? It's deceiving.
I'd love for them to get called on it like Activision did with Call of Duty 2 (http://cube.ign.com/articles/690/690618p1.html).

I'm surprised this isn't being released the same day as the Superman Ultimate Collector's Edition boxset. Hopefully there will be some deals if you purchase the two!

I was thinking the same , probably at Best Buy .
They usually do that there .
Trouble is I'm not in the market for a boxed set , just Superman 2 [Donner] & maybe a deluxe version of Superman Returns .
That gameplay trailer looks pretty damn sweet.

It's hard to design a game where the main character is pretty much invincible.
The worst part about Superman games is when a random thug when a bat can beat up Superman... give me a break.
I remember one Superman game where the thugs got a hold of some alien tech or something, so it at least became believable that they could kill Superman.

This game was one of the best I saw at this years E3. The city is open from the start so you don't have any of the area lock up like you do in GTA games. Also you don't really die in the game, you can fly up to the sunlight to get more life. I hope it turns out well. I'm glad EA didn't rush it and put it out when the movie came out.

Superman actually is "invincible" in this game. Instead of giving Superman a "health bar," it is given to the city of Metropolis. Quite ingenious on EA's part. If they learned anything from both the original and new films, it is that Superman cares about the people more than himself, and does what he can to save them.
This will bring up interesting gameplay mechanics as the "pressure" moments in the game won't revolve around you trying to save your own skin, but making sure the people and the city of Metropolis don't die.

Ok after watching that latest video, and reading IGN's article, this game just shot way up to my second most anticipated game for November behind GOW.
Having an 80 square mile city sand box to be superman in is AWESOME.
Being able to play bizzaro superman and completely obliterate Metropolis is AWESOME.
Saving Kittens for mini-game missions at 800 mph is AWESOME.

This game is going to surprise a lot of people...at least I hope it does. It's not Gears of War, but it's something different that you haven't played before.

Nope - mid-November sometime. Should be in line with the latest X360 demo release schedule...I.e. 1 week before the game is on shelves.

Yeah it looks impressive. However, one thing that stood out as really strange to me, was his cape. When flying that fast, at hundreds of miles per hour, his cape is just kind of floating and slowly flapping. I would think a piece of cloth like a cape would pretty much be flapping like crazy. (put a t-shirt out of your car window on the highway)
But I'm stoked for this game.

I was thinking the same thing. But I'm not sure you can do that in this game. You can destroy buildings, but I don't know about fly through them.

Oh I didn't mean like actually fly through the building itself, I meant like zigzag between them and under arches and stuff, then at the end just hit one at full speed and make a dent in it lol.

Yeah I quite enjoyed it, I paid $20 on Amazon and thought it was worth it, easy nerd points as well which is a bonus.
It's is a very short game though, I managed to finish the story part of the game in about 4.5 hours and I'm an average gamer at best. There is stuff you can do after that though.
So yeah, I'd say it was worth $17.

I really did love the demo. I mean you actually had superman's powers (more than previous games at least), and really did seem invincible, which was cool. I played through it a couple of times, and really loved it.

I traded an HD DVDs for Superman and I think it's decent. I don't want to play it for hours at a time but ratings in the 5s were too low.

Yeah, I picked it up 2 weeks ago there at CC and did get it for $11 along with Meet the Robinsons for the same price, haven't tried it though.
