found one at gamestop today. thing was used but is brand spankin new. when i handed it to the employee to scan it and take it out of the drawer he gave me a jealous ass look and started saying he didn't know they had one. when he saw the thing was almost brand new he gave me some sob ass story about how he bought one with no manual, a beat up case, and a scratched disc just because it's hard to find. it was obvious he was trying to get me to pity him and not buy it so he could. all i have to say to him is... checkmate.

At least he didnt pull the old "Oh Sorry, this one is being held for someone" bullshit so he could pick up himself when he gets paid...

I continually amaze the employees at my local stores with the stuff I dig up out of their piles of old games. One day at Gamestop last summer I found a used but mint and complete Strikers 1945 for PS1, the employee was soo jealous. Were kindaa friendly so I joked that its not my fault if he doesnt know what he has in stock. If I worked in a game store I would be all over those racks on a daily basis scouring them for finds...

Maybe this will make you feel better:

About a year and a half ago, I found a used, but mint condition copy at GameStop in Indiana for a price in the low teens. Maybe $13.00?? I went to the EB Games across the street and found another copy for a slightly higher price. Only difference was the second one had the Atari 'Bonus Sticker' still in the case. I figured that since they were soon to be owned by the same parent company, I'd take the sticker, slip it in my pocket and go buy the first one in the slightly better condition case at GameStop. So, that's what I did.

Not stealing, right? I see them for over $45.00 on eBay now, so perhaps I should have bought both... nah, I like playing games, not doing business with them!

I sold mine on here for $25 awhile ago, I know I could have gone the ebay route, but I decided to give someone else a chance to play it.

How is that supposed to make the OP feel better? I'd consider that fraud as you willingly and conciously changed the bar codes.

No one will feel remorse should you be banned for pulling a stunt like that.

What bar code? I'm talking about the little loose promotional Atari happy-fun sticker included inside the case. Not the bar codes or price. I wouldn't do anything like that.

Oh, my bad. Misunderstood. Actually, I don't think I fully understand what a "little loose promotional Atari happy-fun sticker" is but I'll take your word for it that there was no shaddy business. :)

Haha, it's just a glossy sticker with the Atari logo that came with the instruction manual.

Oh yeah, I got one of those with a copy of Driv3r I got on clearance recently. I tried using it as a bumper sticker, but the first time it rained it fell apart.

Actually, I think it's 3 stickers on a sheet

Stealing in every way.
