GR:AW 360 CAG Clan signups (now with MORE videos!)

Yes, I know there is already a general CAG clan thread for 360 games, but I figure that this clan will get so big that it will need it's own thread.

I'll be getting the game the first day it's out, so I'll make the clan. Since I'll be the squad leader, I'll also need to appoint some captains and other high ranks for our squad (preferably some of the more well known CAGs) and we will accept any CAG who wants to join the clan. If it gets big enough, then we can start up an Alpha and Bravo team for CAG so that more people can play in clan matches. Also, with the higher ranked members of the clan, I'm going to ask maybe 1 or 2 others to be co-leader of the clan, as I will not ALWAYS be on the game 24/7, so I will need some help running things; plus, with more than 1 leader I think it will be a little more fair and effective in general.

Even though all will be accepted, to play in clan matches and stuff you will need to show some skill, teamwork, and knowledge of the game. This doesn't necessarily mean that if you don't get X amount of kills per game then you're not in, simply that me and the other guys need to see that you'll be a valuable 4th, 6th, or 8th man to the team (We can't let CAG become the laughing stock of the GR:AW clans, right?)

Are their clan matches, modes and support for GR:AW?

I'm not too bad at GR2, Summit Strike and the Rainbow games. Rarely the best but always amongst the final 3-5 in a game of 16. On R63 I just about always finished maps. I prefer to be the player with a good combo weapon that could do well in close and at distance like a G3A3, Steyr Aug, M-16etc.

The back of the box says there is clan support for this game. If, for some reason, it takes weeks for clan support to work for the game then...oh well, we'll already have our setup for the clan and will be ready to go when they patch it.

i'm not wrong. 16 players my friends, versus the computer. i have heard this from Che who is reviewing the game for EGM (it gets game of the month), so i think it's a pretty solid source. he described an awesome scenario where you set the enemy on unlimited spawns and you have to defend an area for a set amount of time. they pour at you over and over and you just mow them down with automatic weapons - like a survivial horror game, only not.

well, as i understand it there is the campaign, then there are separate co-op missions, like chaos theory, and then there is the multiplayer. i may be wrong, but i KNOW that you can play 16 people versus the computer.

The lack of mission co-op is my biggest concern about this game. All of the games like defend and such are back from Summit Strike, but you can't do the single player levels co-op I think. Or at least you can't do 16 player co-op. You only have those 4 missions or whatever for co-op that way.

No No. It's just like SC:CT Co-Op. There are only gonna be 4 levels with 4 player Missions. They said they are pretty big Maps and might take up to 45 mins for you to finish each one.

Yes Yes, that's what I mean. :) There are only going to be four maps which sucks when compared to Summit Strike you get 10 of whatever it is.

What'll make the difference is how involved they are and how good the modes are on the multiplayer maps. Because like I said Summit Strike's missions weren't really all that more involved than just killing the enemies so if GRAW gives you the option to at least have co-op defend, hamburger hill, or the mode where you just kill a certain amount of enemies it'll be about the same.

You sure the co-op missions are only 4 player? If so that makes it even worse compared to Summit Strike which allows 16 on all of them.

I swear early on they made it seem like you could do 4 player co-op on the single player missions and then more on the co-op specific levels, now it seems like the 4 are going to be about it, damn.

I'll be happy with any type of Co-Op. Besides being really fun (on any Ghost Recon) they are also an excellent source of practice/training for the clan. I'm sure they'll make up for the lack of maps/players somehow concerning Co-Op, Clancy games usually deliver as well or better than most other games.

Couple things bugging me about the game so far:

- Hard mode does not give normal mode achievements as well
- When killed in scope mode gun gets stuck in the guy's face (looks halarous though)
- Dumb, Dumb, AI (enemies and ghosts)

Problem 1: I cannot for the life of me find any online games. Everytime I do a quick match there's already one in progress and I have to wait 10+ min till the next game. After 30min of trying I found one that was only 1min wait. Anyone else having this problem?

Problem 2: I saw a few of you guys online. I got an invite from X twice and couldnt join, I would get "Could not connect to server" error. Also I saw zewone and santurio (Ramo Z) and they were in a game where it was "joinable". I must have tried a million times to join them and no luck. Same damn message "Could not connect to server"

Try opening a browser window on your PC (it doesn't matter what browser you use, IE, Firefox, etc.), and type this into the address field:

192.168.2.1

That's the default IP address to access most routers. More than likely it'll bring up a username/password entry field. If you've never messed with the router settings before, more than likely both the username and password are "admin".

After that, you should be looking at the myriad of router settings. Look for something like "Port Forwarding". From there, you can tell the router exactly what ports you want it to open.

When you start the connection test, it will go step-by-step checking each part of your connection. Once it hits a roadbump, it will stop, meaning you should focus on fixing that step. After you give it a try, post exactly what parts tested ok and which part failed.

EDIT: I just realized you're using a 360. I outlined the way a normal Xbox tests your connection. Listen to what moojuice is saying. \/\/\/

2.)Go to "Network Settings"
3.)Go to "Test Xbox Live Connection"
4.)It will ask you to sign everyone out. Chose "Yes", and it will start running.
Under NAT at the very bottom, it should come up as "Open". "Strict" and "Moderate" can usually run games, but you wil have alot of dropped connections. On the other hand, port forwarding may work like others said, but I don't know anything about Xbox 360 ports.

Sorry Steve and Ramo, I think I may still be having problems with my router and that is why you couldn't join. It doesn't really make sense that some people can connect and others can't. I've called D-Link several times and may just have to open all ports so I can get this working because it's really pissing me off. Anyways for all those I played with last night it was a blast, and I look foward to some more play the rest of the week as it's spring break for me and I'm too poor to go anywhere.

I'd say keep that DMZ disabled.

As for your firmware though. Go to your Router settings and turn UnPn to off. That firmware on that router is bunk.

Admin< Managment Then turn UnPn to off. Problem should be solved then.

EDIT: Found my problem. I ran a test on my X360 and its my NAT it set to Moderate. It says that if its moderate it will not let me connect with certain users. How to I change my NAT from Moderate to ...um not moderate?

I don't think people are booting you. It seems once a certain amount of people get into a room sometimes the server goes nuts and kicks certain people out of the room. I'm not saying thats what happened in your case. Who was in the room you kept getting kicked out of?

Yup. I was playing with X, zewone, JimmieMac and other cag's and got booted in the middle of the game.


On another note. I played my first games with CAG's tonight. Pretty cool. Capture the flag was not that great though, everyone had grenade launchers and it was getting no where.

I don't host any rooms because my connection isn't that fast, so I haven't booted anyone. There is a known bug that drops people from games. Happens to me sem-frequently.

Also note - There is no clan option symbol on the back of the box. The guy that mentioned that in this thread pulled it out of his ass. There might not be any clan options integrated at all.

Well most of my captains sold their games, and a lot of the people who said they would play weren't able to join our big games, wouldn't come, weren't on, or sold their games as well. I'm going to have to knock some people off my list to add some of the newest members, but there's still no guarantee that more than a handful of people will want to play. Almost every CAG I see is playing Oblivion, so it'd be hard pulling people over to GR:AW. I haven't updated the OP because I have been messing around with clan sites all over the net trying to find something that's easy to set up and manage because of the lack of any clan features. If you want an update then here you go: no one sends me messages/invites except JimmieMac (who's not even in the clan) about GRAW, little to no people join once we send invites out in a room, no one PMs me here asking about anything, the people that complain about us not doing anything are also the people that play Burnout a lot and now Oblivion, and every CAG on my list that signs on is playing a non-GRAW game almost 100% of the time. Also, with the recent dropping of 25% of the room once you start a game, it's hard to keep everyone in the room happy and get them to stay. If you're so interested in the clan you would not sell the game, it doesn't make since. The only messages I have received in the past 30 days, at least from clan members, have been invites to rooms that I have joined and Recommendations for Burnout clips...nothing about the clan at all. I'm still interested and I need to clear some space for those who are interested. Oh, and what does my motto have to do with anything?

Ha, no prob...I was just messing w/ CABs. Making me a CheapyD, maybe a Wombat sometime so I can have a CAG fight between the two.

All you're gonna get with this group is a game invite if someone sees you on or vice versa. Maybe someone will set up a game over the weekend and let you know in this thread, but this isn't like the Halo 2 Clan w/ practices or set game times.

Seems like some CAGers sold their copies as well. Game seems to have died down right when Oblivion launched. And I'm waitng for my 360 to be repaired.

Yeah we'll try to get an 8 man private match, usually if you don't have more than 10 it's ok server-wise. Looks like we have 3 for Thursday now, anymore?

Ok so I cant gaurentee I can add you to my FL b/c im running close to 1.5 meg up and can hold max players in any game...so lets just say unless its your connection you will not DROP/booted/ or disconnect from my room let alone have any lag...you guys will however get pumbled voilently by me and some friends...lol....but lag free of course. It will be unranked,player match....we can do LMS 3 respawn, seige or Sharpshooter but in sharpshooter id bet money you wont win one game ever and you get spawn killed so much you cry uncontrollably. I should be on today for some time at 5pm EST as well
