I'm going to agree. With Halo, the reason it worked is because it was the same game. Fight Night was developed seperately for each platform.

Are you kidding me? Would you think you'd be able to play Fight Night Round two with someone who has round 3? They are two completely different games just as R3 for the Xbox and R3 for the 360 are. I'm going to go ahead and confirm this for you right now. So like I said before "That does suck".

where did I say round 2? There is a new version out now, both for the xbox and the xbox 360...Yes they were made by different studio's of EA, but msft has stated you could play xbox games vs xbox 360 gamers. I wanted to know if this was the case for this game.

They meant you can play a person playing an original Xbox game on the 360 via emulation.

I was using it for comparison. Basically what I'm saying is that you won't be able to do this because they are two different games (The 360 ver and the Xbox) and Round 2 and Round 3 are also two completely different games. You expecting to be able to play 360 version with someone who has the Xbox version is the same as you expecting to be able to play Round 2 against a person who has Round 3, and I don't think you'd be dumb enough to think that. Hopefully I cleared that up.

Sorry Ryanbph, i got no confirmation but its close enough. Last year right before Need For Speed Most Wanted came out, the developers were asked if it was possible for people playing X360 version to play against the XBOX and they said that its not possible, the graphical difference, speed and power of each game varies so much that if they were to do it, it would take a lot of time and money to make it happen and even if they could make it happen the gameplay on the X360 would look really choppy and laggy...

-read that at gamespot.com last year, it wasnt word for word but its the gist of it.

Edit: found it:

GS: How will the Xbox and Xbox 360 versions of NFSMW differ? Will owners of the 360 versions be able to play owners of the Xbox version?

LL: The core Need for Speed Most Wanted online experience will be very similar between platforms. If there was a feature that we were implementing on next gen, the current-gen team took it upon themselves to find a way to make it work for current gen. However, the two versions are not compatible online, as the content is not exactly the same between the two. Next-gen can obviously handle a much greater amount of detail in the worlds and traffic. It became unrealistic to have them share the same track experience without degrading the next-gen experience, which we felt was inappropriate.
