Last year, we informed about the formation of Spectrum MediaWorks, a company whose mission is to serve as a link between the game industry, internet and the television industries. Spectrum’s executives draw from their success in the electronic games, television and technology communities. Among them you can find Alexander Seropian, founder of Bungie Software and co-creator of the Halo franchise and Jim Banister, the former Chief Development Officer and Executive Vice President of Warner Brothers’ New Media division.

Today, Spectrum MediaWorks confirmed that its flagship franchise "X Quest" will ship as a massively multiplayer online game for the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 at the same time Fox Broadcasting Co. debuts the "X Quest" reality TV series.
Imagine Entertainment’s Ron Howard and Brian Gazer will work with FOX’s Mike Darnell to produce the show while Seropian and Banister will help “X Quest” merge the worlds of reality TV and videogames with the launch of a massively multiplayer online game (http://news.teamxbox.com/xbox/10320/Halo-CoCreator-Confirms-MMO-for-Xbox-360-TV-Show/#).

Seropian said "X Quest" has been created from the ground up as a TV show and a game (http://news.teamxbox.com/xbox/10320/Halo-CoCreator-Confirms-MMO-for-Xbox-360-TV-Show/#) structurally designed to exist in the same virtual world.

"The prime reason why the game industry is outpacing cinema, and will eventually outpace television, is that huge numbers of people have demonstrated a desire to immerse and interact," Banister said. "'X Quest' is the first, but certainly not the last."

"From a visual standpoint, this show will seem like a $150 million movie" an Imagine TV executive explained.

I read about this earlier in the day, game players will be interacting with the TV players in the game. Poor people, every depraved troll from here to eternity is going to be gunning for ways to make their mission misserable

No way, i'm going to bust your balls. The same way that Tanuki used to copy and paste everything Gamespot posted. He stopped and that took my fun away, so you're my next target.
