this is old anime, I remember watching it on vhs, back in the day 27$ for all collection is not a bad deal, plus u can get free shipping if u order more than 49$, so if u are a fan , its a good deal!

Crying Freeman is truly an anime classic
This above reviewer sounds like he purchased this movie and got mad because it was ultra-violent and had some sexual situations. And he also comments on what someone ELSE said about the english dubbing without even listening to it himself! In my opinion, Crying Freeman is one of the best classic anime on par with Ninja Scroll, Akira, Fist of the Northstar, and other ground-breaking titles. The animation may have been a little shoddy at times- IT WAS MADE ALMOST 15 YEARS AGO!! You can't compare today's animation with "old-school" anime... that just isn't fair. SO... if you like your anime adult-oriented and violent with a very mature storyline( with a tad of romance too) this series should more than satisfy. P.S.-- Next time that guy writes a review he should actually explore the whole damn DVD before ripping on ANY title (idiot)

got to tell u , as the man says, it is old anime, so the animation, may not be up to today standards, but, the story is excellent!highly recommend it!

These discs are cheap for a reason - Crying Freeman is pretty damn awful, and you won't have to search very hard to find a plethora of reviews that agree. Heck, even that review you posted seems to be in defense to a negative review. Your money would be much better spent on other things... like a root canal.

have to disagree, I watched this anime when it was new more than 10 years back, and it was awesome, and it still, is, and as I told this is for fans!

the boxed set is 24 bucks at DDD during the 20% off sales, and I personally got it from the ADV sale for $15.74. Admittedly though, I picked it up for nostalgia purposes and I havent watched it (again) yet.
