I was wondering if I could get as many of you who may own wired controllers to please share whether or not you experienced one of the defective d-pads? Thanks! I'm considering buying it for 25 bucks, but I really need to make sure that there are defect free controllers out there.

I haven't heard anything about defective D-Pads. I own both a Wired and a Wireless 360 controller and haven't had any problems with them.

I had bought a new wired one whose Dpad was faulty.
Mainly down wasn't working every time.

Traded it for another new one.
Works somewhat better, but the pad still sucks for fighting games.

So when you get yours, try all the buttons out and if theres something wrong take it back for another one.

I didn't know there was a defect, I just thought the D-pads were made badly. Every now and then I'll press in a direction and it won't register. Happens with both of my controllers.

I haven't run into a "defective" one myself, but I think the 360 D-pads just flat out suck, so that may be a problem.

i sent my controller to microsoft for repair of the d-pad. it had a dead spot when i pushed right. while it was gone, i opened my other controller and it had the same problem(dead spot when i pushed down). its just poorly made. it sucks when you're using it to play doa4 and you need those button presses to work with precision. well, i got the controller back. it worked for a little while but it developed the same problem again.

I use the D-Pad very little, but I haven't noticed it not working.
