My little bro just went to TRU and said he saw the following titles for $2:
The Mario Bros Movie
Some Collection of Popeye with 15 episodes
And some superman episodes for $2.
Can someone check these?

Mario Brothers is probably just actually a true clearance title. Seriously WHO buys this movie!? Its beyond awful! :D

As for the Superman and Popeye DVD's, those are likely $.99 cent DVD's that you find at dollar stores or Best Buy in those cardboard endcaps.

Almost all of those discs are Public Domain movies (Thats why there are like 200 different versions of NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD on DVD..the original B&W one). NObody owns the rights to that content, so anyone can burn it to a DVD and start selling it.

Either that, or they are legitimate discs that TRU is seriously trying to get rid of.

I'm still waiting to find Deputy Dawg or Woody Woodpecker on disc :D

Anyone who'd like to be seriously impressed by 1940s animation, as well as getting a cheap thrill, would be enthralled by the 1940s Fleischer Superman cartoons. I've seen most of them, and there's even some that are banned (Like "Japoteurs.") But the production values are staggering. Pick a set up for a buck, you won't be dissapointed.

Mario Brothers is so terrible it's awesome. I bought it for 5 bucks a few years ago and I don't regret it.
