How many GamerPoints do people have to get your attention or respect?:applause:

I don't respect people based on how little of a life they have. I respect them on how they play the game. I've seen people with 5000+ gamer points that quit early in DOA4 that I love to put on my 'avoid player' list.

I don't really care about gamerscores persay but I do like to compare the crap other people have unlocked to confirm my general suckiness.
Scorch: My copy of DOA4 is finally scheduled to arrive today (according to the DC# and the post office). Look for me online where I will be kicking all sorts of ass.

I have in the 5,000s but thats cause some games give them out way to easily. I rent NHL...BOOM 1000 points for playing like one game.
I've also rented a couple other games which brought the score up.
basically you cant look at the points, but instead what they have achieved.

I had like 360 with just PD0, and thought all games were this hard to get them in, and people really had lots of time on there hands. But, once my bb got some games in, it sharply rose with the easy ones.
I dont really care about them to others, but it gives me a little motivation to finish a game/ect.

Didn't he just say "I agree"?
I agree.
Exactly what point were you referring to?
At first I was impressed by some of the higher scores, but now I really don't care about them. On a game I like, I'll try to get most of the achievements, but some games just ask too much. I've got too many games to play, I don't have time to sit there and try to get all Platinums on PGR 3 or get an "A" ranking on every level of Kameo.

I don't even talk to newbs that have less than 5,000 points in non-sports games.
get an "A" ranking on every level of Kameo.Which seems amazingly fucking impossible. My highest grade on anything was a D, and I thought I did pretty good.
I'm going to be renting several games, so I'll have a huge score in a few weeks. Some are just too easy to get, and others are too difficult. Beating a level on veteran, in Call of Duty 2, gives me satisfaction because I did something that was hard, but never seemed impossible. All achievements need to be like this.
I also don't like the 50 achievements in Perfect Dark. It gives you a lot of shit to do, but the amount of points you get is so small, that it doesn't seem worth it.

On a side note has anyone noticed that you can click on someones gamertag in the forums to see their gamerscore and all that jazz? I just did it on accident I have to say that is beyond sweet.

I personally like to see how many achievements I can get. I don't think they prove how well a player plays. Some are just too easy to get. Perfect Dark is just about how long you play. Madden is just a breeze; heck any sports title for that matter. Granted some games actually put some good achievements i.e. Kameo, Call of Duty 2. Anyways, test people out online and it is pretty much a different story.

Not sure...but I've racked up over 1,000 points while my XBOX was not able to connect to LIVE. I hope to get it back today so I can update my GamerScore

I like getting my gamerscore up, but I just see it as a fun thing. People that whine too much about gamerscores put way too much stock in all that shit. It's a fun way to keep a record of what people have accomplished in a game. That's all...

As stuka(nice job on your score btw) said earlier it is a fun thing. I like the achievements because it gives me a little more incentive to plays games after I probably would have put them down and not played them anymore. One example is of this is game Gun. You could beat the stroy mode in a day or two depending how much you play but then if you play all of the side missions and complete them you can unlock more achievements. If I had this game on the current gen xbox, I might have beat the story mode in the game and then started playing something else but the desire to unlock the achievements has kept me playing the side missions until I unlock a few more. I have found that once I start doing this it kind of becomes a little addictive. In the end I think it adds more replayability and value to the games if the achievements are impleneted in the game properly.

I agree completely. I have beaten COD 2 on Normal difficulty, and the only reason why I'm going to go back and replay it on Veteran is for the score.
I don't have a whole lot of time to play, so my score will never get as high as others, but I do enjoy unlocking more points.
