Beatmania Bundle for $39.99 at Amazon.com. Order goes through Target.com which makes this price a huge mistake and likely to change.

That looks like a mistake, as Target.com lists the bundle as $49.99 and just Beatmania as $39.99. Amazon has both listed (through Target) as $39.99. Still a chance they may honor the mistake tho... too bad I already preordered w/Target.

I got my DS from the Winter Catalog B&M typo for $99.99. They honored that one. But online, I dunno.

Same, with enough bitching and effort on my part. The guy at the electronics dept I talked to was nice. I didn't even have to whip out the scan I printed of the catalog. I just mentioned it and was going to whip it out, but he said someone came in earlier asking the same thing and they knew about the typo and are honoring it.

The ASIN numbers for the Target bundle matches the bundle Toys R Us now sells for $59.99: (ASIN: B000CC5C8Q). So in theory, anyone ordering from Target should received the bundle version.
The stand alone game's ASIN number is B000CC39J0.
I would suggest anyone ordering this check their order status right before it is scheduled to ship, to make sure the product description hadn't changed.
BTW, here is the offical boxart for the bundled version (now we can see what the controller looks like):

Nobody is quite sure when this game is coming out.
EB and Gamestop both have it marked as March 28, Amazon has it on March 21 (with some preorders shipping in April), and my Target preorder has it shipping on March 14.

I hope this game comes out Mid Aprik, I dont have time to be playing this game and Kingdom Hearts 2 at the same time.
The new controller is a redisgned version of the japanese one. It is supposed to have spring loaded keys, which should eliminate the sticky problem that plagued the first gen. Many are just buying this game for a new controller.

the ASIN: B000CC5C8Q is the regular beatmania game and the bundle has ASIN: B000CC39J0.
so it is probably just a item mislabeling on account for amazon.

Perhaps... However, Toys R US has the ASIN numbers opposite of what Target.com has, and as I said before the ASIN numbers of the bundles on Target (via Amazon.com) and Toys R US match.
What I don't understand is why you can currently order this bundle on Target (via Amazon.com), but not directly on Target.com?
Since I can't find any other sources of ASIN numbers for this product on the internet, I can't prove if these numbers are right or wrong.

Beatmania aside, if you look at the ASIN numbers for the other products I believe a pattern emerges. The bundled products have a higher ASIN number. If you check each set of numbers (from left to right) they will match until a certin point in the sequence. In every instance the different number (or letter) will be higher in the bundle's ASIN. If the difference is between a number and a letter, I consider the letter to be higher value as if this seqence is used 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,A,B,C...etc.
DDR Ultramix 3: 1<3
DDR Extreeme 2: 2<C
Karaoke Revolution: 2<6
Karaoke Revolution Party: 9<A
and...
Beatmania: 3<5
As I said, this doesn't prove one way or the other what the correct ASIN numbers for Beatmania are, but logically I believe this argument makes sense.

Interesting, the non-bundle is through TRU, but bundled is through Target.
If I end up getting the non-bundle one, can I take it to a Target to return it? Or at least exchange it for one with a pad?

Unfortunately I believe you can't return Target.com purchases to a Target B&M, that is why I suggest that if you plan to order this check your order just prior to it being shipped, to ensure that the product description hadn't changed.

I was at my local arcade and I havent played Beatmania in like 2+ years so I waited then when it was my turn I realized it was the 5 key(never played), when I started playing my hand started going to the wrong places, it would go to where the 3rd key on top and the 4th key on the bottom. I decided to play an average difficulty song and I blew at it. I didnt even past the 1st stage. I felt so bad, I ran away to test my skills at catching dolls. My skills were a little off but I managed to grab 3 dolls on 4 coins(costs 2 quarters to play).

Both are now shipping through TRU and the bundle was marked up to $60, but my order is still showing $40. SWEET! (I checked and in my order, it linked to the updated bundle.)

The TRU bundle was always $60, the $40 bundle was from Target and that is either sold out or taken down by Amazon.

The OP or a mod needs to change the title, reflecting the "deal" as dead. I would've like to get in on it, though I wouldn't be surprised if you end up with the game only. Good luck to all of those in on it.

Just an update.
Shipping still says April 19th. I saw the game in stock at GameStop for $65. I hope this is worth it to save $25+ bucks.
My order is still listed for the 19th as well. Fingers crossed.
My local Best Buy got only one copy of the game in last week. I wonder how difficult this will be to find (in case the $40 bundle does not work out).
Man, Amazon is really shady on this one. I got an e-mail this morning asking me to confirm a change in the order. I thought "OK, here is where they are going to apologise about the price mistake and perhaps offer me a coupon or something."
But no - I followed the link they included, and got to a page that only showed a shipping date change. All I could tell was that the game was now set to ship at the beginning of May rather than on the 19th. No mention of a price correction or anything like tthat at all. If I had not been suspicious and clicked on the item details again, I would have just hit "confirm" regarding the date change and been none the wiser.
Naturally I sent an angry complaint e-mail, but I'm sure they will claim that it is within their rights to alter the price since they didn't charge my card yet. Personally, once I have an order confirmation, I think they should stick to that price and not be allowed to change it. Especially in a shady way like they are trying to...
Now I have to decide if I want to spend the full $60 on the game or not. At $40, it felt like a great bargain, but at $60 I'm on the fence.
Now I'm confused - I manually went into my account and the $40 price is still listed. I went ahead and confirmed the date change, and it looks like they will still only charge me the lower price.
If they do honor the price, then a big +1 for Amazon!

I got my EBgames $49.99 preorder in last week after 9 business days of waiting due to "value shipping" and returned it to the store since I picked one up at the local EB for $64.99 the day after it was released.
Mine was officially cancelled too. Dang it.
So menikmati, is the game worth $65? How does it compare, addiction wise, to Guitar Hero?
/just bought guitar #2, so I should probably hold off on bringing home another music game with a crazy controller. Although, a turntable would be a nice addition to my growing console band (maracas, bongos, guitars, microphones, and dance pads).
