It's looking more like I'm gonna get a 360 soon. When that happens I'll just transfer my LIVE account onto the 360 (it'll be good until October). However, what happens when I want to use my old XBOX on Live? I've got a bunch of games that aren't B/C yet, so I'll still have plenty of reasons to go online with the old XBOX. Am I gonna have to run two separate Live accounts?

No you do not need to separate account. One account can be on both the Xbox and Xbox360.

As long as the Live Account is registered on the original Xbox to begin with, you can use the same account on both the Xbox and Xbox 360.
The only thing you can't do is start a new account on the 360 and then try to transfer it over to the Xbox.

Awesome, I didn't expect Microsoft to be that generous. So I assume the only real limitation is that I wouldn't be able to use both at the same time, right? Like I couldn't be playing Halo 2 on LIVE with four people on the XBOX and four more on the 360?

I may as well keep doing it that way, if it lets me use LIVE on both systems.

Yes, you can only have 1 system on Live with that account at a given time.
As for renewing, you can do that with either system (it doesn't matter).
