I don't have one but heard nothing but bad things about it. Poor video quality, sound quality that's pretty askew, etc.

I had one and sold it because I ended up getting one of the cheaper Family boy NES clones, It played all 30+ NES games I had.. The video and audio were the same as a regular nes and you dont have to worry about messing with blinking screens.. Most of the reviews you read are written by Nintendo loyalist who dont like the fact that the clones actually work pretty damn good for a $20-30 brand new system( nex gen is more but I would just stick with one of the other clones, The only difference is the other clones have wired controllers).

QFT.

The best way to play NES games is one of those cheapy famiclones that are out now. I have that red and white one with the blue led's in it. I got it for $20 and it works better than my original nes, or even my official top load nes. And it accepts original nes controllers and peripherals. I use that, and the dogbone controller from my toploader and Im fine.

Keep in mind that some games cant be played on any clone system, like Castlevania III.

Unless you are really sold on the form factor of the NEX it's really not the greatest purchase.

First, I am one of those people that would give the NEX a poor review - a loyalist if you will. But here's the issue I have with it. Obviously, it does have some compatibility issues - Castlevania 3, Micro Machines, etc. But, even putting that flaw aside...

It's $60. The only thing that makes it cost that much compared to a $25 Yobo clone from estarland or ebay is the form factor, the Famicom port, and the built in wireless receivers. Taking those things one at at time...

Form factor isn't that important, at least to me - my Yobo is actually quite nice look IMHO (I have blue/white). For the record I have an NES I refurbished myself and a Yobo.

Famicom port - well, first of all it doesn't handle Famicom enhanced music properly. Secondly, if you don't care about perfect compatibility, chances are you're not the type of gamer that has a ton of Famicom games kicking around...

Wireless Receivers builtin. $60 for the system, then $60 for a dual pack of their wireless controllers. Assuming the money isn't an object, the absolutely lousy d-pad on their wireless pads will be. Not worth it.

So - unless you LOVE the design of the NEX - go for a Yobo - same compatibility issues, but lower price. Oh, and I have heard that the NEX does suffer from very quiet sound output.
