hook up the video out to the appropriate plug on the tv, then you need to wire the line out from the sound card to the tv as well.

THEN...depending on video card/drivers, you either have to 1: reboot the pc with the cables plugged into the tv with the tv on (some older cards need this to work) or go to the monitor properties and enable it...

would be a bit more helpfull if you told us what video card you have...

or just buy the philips dvp642. plays divx files like mpg, avi, wmv i think. burn the avi files on a dvdr and play it on there.

Hook it up, then go to you display properties (right click any empty spot on the desktop, go to properties, go to the settings tab). There should be a drop down menu on the display option.

Number 1 is your main display (your PC in this case) and you should be able to select a number 2, which is you extended desktop. Select number 2, check the box for the 'Extend my Windows desktop.......' and position the display in the picture near the top (you should see two monitors 1 and 2, each representing their respective monitors).

For example, if 1 is to the left of two, then that's how your GPU will treat you new 'extended' desktop as. If you move you mouse from the to the right on you Computer monitor, it should now show up on your TV. Also, make sure the resolution for the second display (number 2, your TV) is as low as possible since most TVs cannot support a very high size.

Now, all you need to do is open whatever you want and drag it over to display number 2. That should do it.

I will post in here and ask what is the best display properties to set up for TV viewing only? 800x600 or any other recomendations...

is there any software to mae the text less hard to read?

I am building a tv only PC for emulation and would like anybodies input.
