NIBRIS is a small, Cracow (Poland) based developing team, that is currently working on its first series of games called Raid over the River. Games from it are developed with intention to be published on Nintendo's consoles.

http://www.nibris.net/

According to NIBRIS' Project Manager Piotr Orlowski, the studio has been busy as of late preparing a demo of the DS Raid over the River for E3 in May. He also mentioned briefly that the Revolution version might make an appearance during the show in one form or another.

Orlowski could not confirm recent reports concerning the inexpensive nature of the Nintendo Revolution's SDK, but did say that they "are very happy that Nintendo thinks very reasonably about third-party developers."

Additionaly, he noted that although the team is working on Raid over the River, they are simultaneously developing the previously announced gothic-horror project, now under the working title of "Sadness." According to Orlowski, Sadness is "only for Revolution." Moreover, exclusive information and materials about this project will be provided to Revolution Report as soon as possible. First screens of Sadness will apparently be placed on NIBRIS' Web site towards the end of April.

I am pretty sure these are images from their game, but not 100%, plus I am unsure whether they are DS or Revo since the quality aint that great

I'm guessing those are DS pics, considering they're demo-ready for the DS, and "may" show some Rev material. Although I would think there'd be a second screen. And I've never seen anything that smooth on the DS.

It be cool for RTS style to show one screen ACTION!!! and the other moving your units and stuff.

Because that is not the DS version. Those are pictures of the PC work that is going to be put onto the Revolution. There are pretty much in a situation like that other Revolution indie developer, except NIBRIS has a bit more stuff to show off. At least that is the word around the street. Nintendo has been very picky about who they're sending development kits to, according to that other indie developer.

Unfortunately neither of these developers have publishers yet. I hope they get them soon so they can get their projects off the ground.

I'm nearly 100% positive that they've found a publisher after RevolutionReport posted their story a few months back. Otherwise, they wouldn't be moving forward on a Revolution version of the game.

Crossbeam studios. I'll get a link to their website.

You might be right. The article that said that they hadn't found a publisher yet might have been old. Time to google it.

EDIT: Oh, you're right. Right there on RR also.

EDIT again: 4cr just did an interview with Crossbeam. They're getting a lot of press lately. Maybe a publisher will pick them up too.

Good news. I hope they get a bunch of independent small developers that are more willing to try something original than the EAs of the world. One of them will come up with something big at some point. In any case, since Revolution is about new gameplay experiences, new developers are just what the doctor ordered.

i think its great that 3rd partys are able to get cheap kits to make games for the REV. Hopefully most games will have compatibility with the gamecube controlers so u don't have to use that controler.

i mean the only thing that controler looks cool for is first person shooters and maybe starcraft type of games like those screens showed above.

Some deatils about their Revo game called "Sadness":
“All I can say now is that it [Sadness] is going to be a gothic horror which will scare not with the amount of blood but sheer atmosphere. Imagine a game in which you do not use guns or knives but you will have to protect yourself with the objects you find exploring the ground – a stone, a stick, etc.”

“Some examples of using the controller – you swing a torch with it to scare the rats off, you slit the throat (controller as a piece of glass of a knife); if you want to climb the wall you will have to hook a rope over the piece of a wall sticking out (controller serving as a lasso). And this is only the beginning. The game will be for single player and single player only. For an adult player with strong nerves. Let me mention that the scenario will have associations with narcolepsy, nyctophobia and paranoid schizophrenia. The scenario will surprise you.”

If it's as good as they make it out to be, I'm sold.

there is a chance we will be entering a golden age of gaming where there can be more than a couple big developers with a ton of sequel, or there is a chance nothing will change from the previous generation

Firstly, anyone who thinks those are DS screens is out of their mind... the DS is NOT capable of such graphics. Those graphics are computer generated to some what they expect to accomplish for the Rev version of the game.

Secondly, I'm fairly sure they already found a publisher as Ecofreak said.

well they did have one..

Concerning the distributor – the company which was to be our publisher has financial problems and even cancelled its own projects. Therefore currently we do not have any but we are having promising talks with three companies. Of course if there will be any other company interested we will also negotiate – we are really counting on getting a good publisher who will appreciate our ideas and capabilities.
