Unless K-Mart changed its policy since I worked there a month or so ago, they don't accept price matches at all, and that was per corporate since it was money they couldn't afford to lose.

I just got back from two of my local Meijer stores (open 24 hours). I got a successful PM at both stores. Both places had the manager come over because there was such a large variation in price. The first store gave me some troubles but I just told them I was in there earlier and they told me I had to come back sometime after midnight because technically BB's advertised price didn't start until Sunday the 12th.

Went to WalMart and talked it up with a young cashier. She was fine with the PM but, the register printed out a slip of paper stating that the difference was greater than the markup. A supervisor was called and he said it was fine as long as the manager ok'ed it. The manager called BB and since they were closed said no deal as he can't verify that it was in stock there. I tried "I can't come back because of church" and blah blah blah. Still no go.

Not letting the rain or public transit stop me I headed back out to Sears and then CC. Stupid me forgot Sears opens at 11 so I walked in the rain to CC. Grabbed 2 kits headed to the front and the girl looked at it and started babbling about the price was after a rebate yada yada, I got her set straight and she started to do it but then told me to hold on and went to bestbuy.com and then shot me down after reading the ad correction.... DAMN YOU INTERNET! lol

Walked back to Sears in the rain, caught a bus half way, and tried to PM. The young kid was all for it till he saw the price difference and got a manager. Old guy once again arguing about the rebate...... after about 10 minutes of me and him going back and forth he said i could have it for $39.99 + the 10% price guarantee. His reasoning being after I mail in the rebate i'd get it for $19.99 which was what was advertised and he wouldn't give the BB price of free after the rebate for the game. That was good enough for me..... I told the guy to get me another out of the case because I wanted two and he stormed off and told the sales kid to take care of it for me., he was still pissed when he had to come back and do the override.... LOL

Final total: Me wet all morning and 2 kits for $78 after tax. Plus $40 worth of rebates to mail in.

Then while in the parking lot I figured what the hell might as well get two years, funny enough I almost got blocked the second time . Customer Service rep who rung me up the first time decides to ask a manager this time around, manager who just got done telling her not to price match some t.v looks it over, whistles at the difference in price then pauses. Best Buy: No correction notices as far as I could see and the ad still said $19.99. Almost got away with it until the cashier called the manager who claimed that the correction notices should have been there.

Circuit City: After 3 calls to Best Buy, they finally get through, but I guess the CSR tells them that it's a price mistake.

Walmart: Went twice and got shot down both times since they only had the old XBL kit.

I'm gonna try Sears next, although I highly doubt it will go through. Oh well, good luck to the rest of you!

Same thing happened to me at my CC, almost verbatim. Then they refused to do it because the price difference was so low, I'd get it at below cost. Amazing, I don't hear them bitch the other 20 times I've PM'ed games way below cost.

Another CC was out of stock, and two Sears rejected me, one Sears refusing and the other getting hung up on the games rebate portion.

Looks like I got lucky. The only local store that had a 12-month 360 kit was Target, and they don't do price matches. But at Walmart, they had the 3 month 360 kits, and 12 months original Xbox Live kits. So I brought an original 12 month Live kit up (with PGR2 included), showed the cashier the ad, and she price matched it without any trouble. Yay for me. Too bad I canceled my original Xbox Live subscription last month...

Went to a CC near me and the girl at the CS line was so shocked that there was such a price drop that she went to the back a couple of times, ask every other employee that passed by, called BB, checked their web site and called her manager a couple of times. After 15 minutes of waiting I told her to forget about it, at that point one of the employees she talked to comes out of the back and tells her that BB has a message on their site that it is a misprint. She starts telling every who would listen that she knew something was wrong and that they need to print out a bunch of the message from the BB web site to warn future employees on duty about the mistake. She was absolutely insane about it. She even tried to keep my BB Sunday ad! Good grief. Totally not worth all of the hassle. I am going to try another CC tomorrow.

Nope, they'll no doubt Ebay it. Can't blame them though. Not right to buy 11, but it doesn't really make it right to buy 1 either. Their boldness just paid for a new 360 if they don't have one yet.

I managed to score one. They tried to call Best Buy, but the store put them on hold so long (near 20 minutes, I kid you not), that she gave up and just honored it. They had like 6 on the shelf, but I think it paid off for me in the end by not getting greedy. They probably would have stuck it out on hold.

I've did a few pick up and trade at cost deals but the value difference between cost and worth was never in the $50 range. I would never expect someone to lose out on this much money. The fact that he just signed up to see the deal and is now trying to sell it back to us is an asshole move but if he's legit then he's still losing money compared to the selling value elsewhere and that's helping us out.

I've seen some where I think they should, someone got my Mom the first time she did ebay with shipping that was 15x what it cost; her great deal was not so great after that. She learned her lesson to read everything.

my experience with this was as follows:

drive over to Sears and notice they have 1 kit left. sit there for 20min. waiting for someone to open the case up so I can get it. after finally getting the guy to grab it out of the case and ring it up(16.00) I head out the door. I try to find one more since it states on the box that you can add up to 36 months on a LIVE account and I figure what the hey, I might as well do it know since its cheaper and I can always give away the extra headset and free game.

I then proceed to K-Mart and see that they have 1 left as well. same thing here, I have to wait for like 15min. for someone to open up the case to get it out. then they have to escort it to CS because of a PM. in the process of us not getting to the CS counter at the same time as the employee somehow the kit gets lost. we then are asked about it and we tell them it was an X-Box Live kit and that we wanted to do a PM. lady says sure and tries to find it. they end up finding the person who took it up there in the first place and have them show the lady where its at. at this point atleast another 20min. has gone by. then after they find it the same lady that we told we wante to do a PM proceeds to us us that they don't do PMs. so we wasted over 35min. there when the lady could have told us about the no PMs right after we stated we wanted to one.

so we only got 1. oh well, hopefully another new deal will arise when my Live account is up for renewal next year.

now I'm going to go and apply the 1 I got now. I hope everyone has the best of luck in scoring atleast one and to not have to deal with any gougers.

I would glady help you out, but like I said myself and my friend picked up the last two at Circuit City and I don't have the gas or time to try Wal-Mart today.

Im sure someone on here would be willing to sell you one for $25-$30 because that's still a great price and profit for whoever sales it.

As for Sears, the one near me doesn't carry games anymore either.

Finally, after getting shut down at 6 stores yesterday (3 stores didn't have it, 1 didn't pricematch, two caught the error) I finally got 3 of these things. A walmart had some here and pricematched it, and all I had to do was deal with some evil looks from a higher up and agree with the employee behind the counter about how her boss was a bitch.

I went to WalMart one time for a price match on Ace Combat 5 when Sears had it in thier ad for $5. They gave me the deal and promptly removed the rest from the shelf. I bet thats what they are doing with the XBL kit.

First CC in Carmel Mountain didn't have any in stock. Went to the one in Clairemont Mesa Blvd (was a BITCH to find) and found 2. Grabbed one and went to the employees who were playing some name game on a piece of paper. Showed her the BB ad and she checked the SKU's since she was surprised of the $50 difference. After some managers codes and poking the register, I got it for $16.15 after tax, she even gave me the extra 10%. No phonecalls, no managers, no hassle.

Finally got my local CompUSA to PM one of these. Really happy to do it. Weird though how they PM. You have to first pay the full price, then take it to the customer service counter where they refund you the entire amount and then ring it up again for the PM price. Weird. The lady at the customer service counter even took a photocopy of the ad. I didn't want to be greedy and ask for more than 1. If anyone in the Miami, FL area still needs to pick one of these up, you can get it at the CompUSA that is located off of 826 going west of exit 12. They had a couple left. They even had a couple of hard to find guides (Jedi Outcast II, RPG Maker II) to name a couple.

Well no luck finding any extras in Milwaukee, Pretty much picked clean at every walmart/Sears in the area, The only Compusa knew about the error because some one got greedy and tried to buy their entire stock. The last sears I went to had a copy of the price error on the gaming area glass. Sorry guys I tried to find extras. Thinking I would find another for myself I gave my only one to a friend since his subscription ends tomorrow :( On a side note I found ALOT of Xbox 360 HDD's at a walmart on hwy 100 and layton. SO if Any locals still need one they have 15+ in stock.

i got one at walmart yesterday (sunday) about 3 pm.

i woke up late and looked at the ad and seen it, went to their website and seen it was a mistake, figured i should hurry up and get to walmart.

Got there and went back to the electronics and went to see if they had any, they had like 5 left so i went to the checkout and brought out my ad and asked if she would pricematch it, she said no cause its with a rebate.....so i said thats just a rebate for a game, not the kit. She figured it out and called some other employees over and they were shocked at the price.


Eventually the manager came over and verified everything was the same and ok'd the price match, so i walked out with a gold kit for 20 bucks, im happy.

Best Buy - no luck (had to go there anyway to get the ad in the first place)
Sears - they didnt have the 360 version, and wouldn't PM the old Live 12 month because pictures weren't the same
CompUSA - didnt have 360 version, and didnt bother trying to PM
CC - had a bunch, and got 1 for 19.99.

CC wouldn't let me get more than 1, so i will try back again tomorrow and see if the rotation changes. If i do get one, I'll trade one of the people who offered up a 360 game =]

just as a side note, does anyone consider this act of pm'ing a pricing mistake wrong? i know its not technically illegal, but will anyone even admit that it is unethical and somewhat fraudulent? and for the record i tried to get one and struck out, so don't think i'm getting high and mighty...i am just curious.

we are making one business suffer for the mistake of bestbuy who seems to be getting off pretty easy on a pretty big fuck up. does bestbuy suffer any in this situation other than pissed customers that have to drive to another store to pm?

I asked the manager and the customer service rep at my local Kmart and both said to me that they don't PM. I didn't try to PM as they didn't have any kits but this sound like it was just this particular manager that didn't want to deal with PMing the item I wanted.

Best buy sold be a refurb compaq...didnt work and refused to take it back (what a mess). Good point in the fact that other retailers pay for BB's mistake. BB dodged the loss (other than a few sales).

Considering I made Wal-Mart lose money (which is very rare) I don't have any guilt.

I tried today here in Buffalo, Ny area. First i tried circuit city tried a lady in the movie department and she said we got a email from corporate and this was a price mistake and wouldnt do it. I tried 2 walmarts and none had the new 12 month in stock only the old one. I next went to sears and got one for 16.12 guy first said this wasnt the same one picture was different but he called manager over she didnt look at ad and gave him the magic key turn.

This sounds like what is happening here. Out of the five in a 20 mile radius, 4 had 3 month (360) & 12 month (O. Xbox), but one store actually had an empty space for the 12 month (360)

Already stated early on in the threa, but since you brought it up let's take a look at your other posts in the thread:

never underestimate the power of a walmart pm...they gave me psychonauts (xbox) for 4.99 with a TRU ad pm...would have gotten more than 1 copy if they had more.

Obviously you're a hippocrite! Not sure how much you screwed Wal-mart for the screw-up by TRU, but never the less you screwed them. Also not only do you mention it is wrong, though you step back as if not judging, you ask for the wronfully purchased items. Is this so you don't feel as guilty. Everyone knows it is wrong, but it is not there fault BB fucked up. Members are just capitalizing like every other American, so sell your sob story about the little man robbing big business somewhere else.

I can confirm that the Charlotte University CC refused to PM, and was quite snotty about it. I even tried to purchase additional items to set off the margin, but ah well.
