So I often use my PC at night but have recently had a renewed love for music. Is there anyway I can make say... Ctrl + Down Arrow turn down my sound and such? thanks for anything. PS I'm on XP

The only way you could do that is if your keyboard supported such a feature. There might be some problem that enables user defined hotkeys though but I don't know of any.

If you use iTunes, Ctrl+Up/Down will change volume. In Media Player Classic, you just need the up and down arrow buttons. Space bar pauses both.
In WMP, F9 and F10 will control volumes, but that may be inconvenient. You might try a free utility like AutoHotKey.
