Here's the entertainment software listings from the Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW), Houston (HOU), Chicago (IL), Los Angeles/Orange County (LA), San Jose/Silicon Valley (SJ), and Washington state (WA) Fry's Ad(s). These prices are valid only for the dates listed in the subject line.

The items listed below are as they appear in the Fry's Ads. If an item is listed as "SJ only", for example, it could still be on sale at other locations (i.e. - Austin, Sacramento, San Diego, AZ, GA, IN, NV, OR), but it only appeared in the SJ ad. However, since these ads are not available online, I cannot confirm them.

If anyone knows of a website to view any further ads, please let me know.

Same. That final boss made me quit and go onto a new game. I'll give him a shot soon enough though. Oh, except I paid 4.25 after tax for sonic :D.

I dont see how they think they're going to be able to offer Tales of Phantasia at 24.99 when every place pretty much ran out during the 3/8-3/9 ad.

Oddly enough, the store in Irving, TX looked as if no one had touched a copy of ToP. Odd. I feel sorry for my friend, who bought Naruto (GC) yesterday at full price...and this was after he had to wait a good 5 minutes while the employees checked to make sure they were allowed to sell it (it was behind a glass case in the gaming area, but not on the store shelves). :P

That's weird, I just pricematched GR:AW yesterday without a hitch. I doubt it changed overnight; maybe it's some BS the store is feeding you, or it could be a YMMV thing as always?

EDIT: To follow up, I went to Best Buy tonight and got Burnout Revenge for the 360, and they PM'd it with no questions asked. Hell, they didn't even tear that portion out of the flyer - the guy looked at it, rang it up, and gave me the flyer back!

I really hope that's not actually a new policy thing... Best Buy is absolutely useless to me unless they pricematch Frys... ah well, if they won't do it, then Circuit City will. It's not like BB's going to make me buy something on their terms.

I hope not too. But my Best Buy's in my local area have gotten very keen about how they do buissness. They never put new games out the first week anymore, Im supposing this is to avoid the fry's pricematch altogether.

There's a regular edition and then there's a limited edition. You get:

-A different box cover then the reg
-A third disc with all the cutscenes put into one movie (around 3 hours long)

http://www.konami.jp/gs/game/mgs3_sub/america/index.html

And if you're wondering, the LE truly it limited. Most gamestores like Gamestop and EB have stopped taking preorders on it.

Eh, you're too cynical about these things (understandably so)...not like Fry's ALWAYS has the cheapest prices (okay, 3/4 of the year, yes, but I digress). Of course, I go to Best Buy more for the reasonably-priced anime (and any cheap games) more than anything, so I guess I can't speak (don't like online shopping...moreso I can't online shop, lol). ;)

Point of the above? Nothing really. What's below is probably more or less helpful, depending on how you look at it. :P

I still think it's just some stores blowing steam...either that, or Denton is really far behind with the rules! If one BB doesn't accept it, I'd say go to another (or to CC as mentioned before), but I don't know how far apart everyone's stores are.

That's a great price on God of War if it's also $14.99 at the Fry's here. MGS3: Subsistence is also a great price, I'd rather have the LE, but I'll see what's up at the store when I stop by this weekend.

Shadow Hearts: From the New World >>>>>>29.99= NICE!

I hate to break it to ya fellow Vegas CAG, but as of today (I was so hyped up to buy this game) it wasn't on sale. Perhaps over the weekend Vegas will catch up. Still, I paid the full price for the game and will come back to the store if they drop the price on it.

I've had acouple of times where I guess I must have caught some BB employees/a manager on a bad day of theirs where they simply wouldn't PM Fry's and just kept making up excuses. But of course this is BB and they are aloud to do such a thing. One time they kept saying that Fry's was a membership Warehouse and wouldn't PM them. But since then ,I haven't elly had a problem with them so much and I've PMed stuff like Burnout 3, etc.

I hate to do this to fido and copy his list that he works on and does a great job of, but I thought I should verify as much as I could for my Vegas Peeps.

Oh, and I'm leaving the DVD ads up as I can't really make them out in the black and white crap copy of the ad that they provided to me.

WTF!?!?!?

I just need to vent because the 2 things I want : MGS3 and SH:FtnW, are both excluded in IL. But we get any DDR bundle pack you could possibly ask for? Bogus man.

That is all.

Actually, I was always hoping that more people would do this to help fill in the various gaps in the ad. No complaints on my end. :)

Picked up Burnout:Revenge for the 360 as well as a special treat - a Syntax Olevia LT26HVX for $500 out the door. Last one in Atlanta. It's so sweet but has a weird contrast issue where it's a little messed up until I go into the menu and change the contrast. Then it flips back to normal but I have to do this every time I turn it on. I have a tough time complaining for $500 though and it's clearance so they won't be getting any more in. I have to decide if I'm keeping it or not, but if the next 2 weeks don't show any more problems, I'll take my chances.

Could someone bag the LE of Subsistence for me at Fry's if they end up having it as well as the preorder disc? I would really appreciate this. I know some people are doubtful about it but I think they might actually have some as well as the preorder disc, I mean look at how they had the ToS premiums. I only want both together for Subsistence LE WITH the preorder disc, thank you.
Also are ANY of these deals showing up at the online site? I'd be interested in picking up "Condemned" for myself and seeing if it's any good.

Can someone please clarify for me (I'm slow) : is MGS3:S 23.99 at the IL Fry's now too? And if it's available "Wed by 4pm" doesn't that mean it would have to be in the Wed ad as well? Not sure how that works to have a sale price end before the game comes out.

Help?

Stopped by Frys last night and got BO:R for the X360 for $47.99. Saw XBOX SSX Tricky for $6.50.

Odd but good price.

Anyone see the Outfit yet? I've been hearing conflicting dates for when it will be available. I know it wasn't there last night and don't want to drive out again today, unless I know for sure it will be there.

from the gspot review

You'll find yourself in some pretty war-torn areas that are filled with debris and obstacles, but unfortunately, you can't always shoot through empty space in The Outfit, and it is supremely frustrating when your 75mm cannon shell happens to catch an invisible edge. Almost more frustrating is the game's model for splash damage. Vehicle explosions will regularly take out soldiers that are standing right next to them, but shots from a bazooka or a tank's main cannon have almost zero effect if they don't bull's-eye the desired target. You'll realize just how ridiculous this is when you're sniping off a row of Nazis one at a time with a gigantic antitank cannon.

I'm confused, did anyone see this?

http://newspaperads.mercurynews.com/ROP/ads.aspx?adid=2701659&advid=32664&type=

It says "Available Wednesday 3/16/06". March 16th is a Thursday.
You can also see on the same ad that Mega Man Powered Up is "Available Wednesday 3/15/06".

http://newspaperads.mercurynews.com/ROP/ads.aspx?adid=2689514&advid=32664&type=

and the above ad right here says that Subsistence is available on Thursday 3/16/06.

So is it Wednesday or Thursday?!

Not a problem for me and I haven't noticed any of that:) I've been loving the demo. THQ announced that the game was shipped today though so maybe I'll drive out later this afternoon to see if it is in.

Yes, it's at all of the Fry's that the post covers. Fry's will often put new releases in their ads which come out after the sales period. If so, the sale price is for the day of the release. It may not appear in the Weds. ad, although it very likely will.

Thanks fido (for the clarification and for always posting the ads).

EDIT : also - I am a lot less worried about getting the right price at Fry's than I am about price-matching : BB has been total nazis about it lately regarding the dates of the sale, whether they have it in stock, etc. I guess Fry's consistently beating them by $10 or more gets their attention.
