View Full Version : planet of the apes - ultimate collection - Where to buy?

So I have my heart set on this, being a hardcore Apes fan. Deep discount had a great deal, but now they no longer seem to have it up. Best Buy had it listed as retail value on their site, but it is now missing from there, too. Amazon has it, thank god, but they're the only website (ebay aside) that I can find it at. Apparently it's limited to 10,000.
So does anyone know if Best Buy/Target/Circuit City will be getting these in? I'm VERY worried I may not get it, as I don't get paid until the end of the month, and they go on sale 3/28 (originally it was 3/21, too. Curious.)

I just wish they would have finished the new Planet of the Apes series instead of just doing the first movie.
Don't know the answer to your question though.

that may be the most blasphemous statement of all time. tim burton's "re-imagining" was complete and utter crap. if he had tried to "re-imagine" all of them... i don't want to think of the horror....

They made a series based on the Mark Wahlberg movie?

I thought the "crap" was thoroughly enjoyable.

I guess the DDD is a better deal at $125.89. Just got an email from Amazon saying it was $134.99 there.

I like the idea of this set....I actually like monkeys and have a few around the house. The wife even likes the look of this...however, $125 is still a lot of money for these movies.

for 14 discs of apes, everything ever commited to film... well worth it for an apeamaniac like myself.
(bonus trivia: i named my black pug 'zera')

If you are such an apeamaniac, shouldn't you have named her "zira"?? ;)
I have all the movies and the TV series on DVD, so I can't really justify getting the set just to see the animated "Return to POA". I'm hoping they will release it separately.

However all the movies (outside of the original Apes and Burton's disaster Apes) are getting brand new remastered jobs including 16x9 enhancement which might be worth upgrading on (and yes at least those will be released seperately).

I like those films, but not enough to buy them again. ;) The '68 POA was a different story tho. Good info to know tho, thx.

well she's all black, and all my life i wanted an all-black dog named 'zero.' but he turned out to be a she, and i love planet of the apes, so it was a compromise within myself :)
