From gonintendo:
"Jeuxpo is reporting that Beyond Good and Evil 2 has been in pre-production for a couple months now. The sequel is said to stay true to the original as far as action is concerned, but this time around there will be travel between various planets. Also, the game will be coming to all next gen consoles, with Nintendo Revolution specifically named."

No....words. Should have sent....a poet...

I still need to get the first one, I've wanted to play it badly but haven't had the time nor have I seen it in stores.

Cool news, especially since it will be on all next-gen consoles. PS3 keeps looking better and better to me.

Beyond Good & Evil is one of the ten best games of this generation, for me at least. I can't wait to see a sequel.

Gyah. I got my hopes up last time, when there was that rumor about there being two sequals in development, and those hopes were, of course, shattered, when that was confirmed to not be true.

I hope it's true, but I'm not going to let myself get worked up too much, in case it's another false alarm.

Bought it for about $3.95 at Circuit City, and have been loving it.

It's the best original game this generation.

One of the best this gen easily... I wonder since the rev was named what they plan on bringing to the table..

Why would the PS3 look better, It's not PS3 exclusive. Kind of sad if a multi-console game is making the PS3 look good.

I can't wait to see the first screen shots of the game. Second we see the first footage I'm going to GameStop and reserving it for the Revolution.

For some odd reason I did not pick up on what a majority of people love so much about the original Beyond Good & Evil game. I mean, it was entertaining, but nothing above average whatsoever. I might be in the minority here, but with all the praise it recieved here on CAG, I was expecting a very impressive game, of which it was not.

Mediocre selling game with good critical reviews. People suddenly adore it to be different. See also: shitty well-reviewed indepedent movies and shitty well-reviewed no-name music.

A for accurate point but it was mostly the universe and characters that I liked about it.

So a sequel could bring more to the table with what was already laid for a foundation.

For me, more than anything, it was about the heart that the designers put into the game. You could really tell this was something they loved and wanted to make, instead of another sequel that was ordered by their robot overlords. The world and characters were unique, and the several different style of play made it fun no matter what you were doing.

I thought the combat was a bit repetitive, but hey, that's a complaint common to Ubi Soft games in general.

Still, this would be great news if it panned out. MAKE IT COME OUT NEAR LAUNCH, BEFORE THE FLOW OF GREAT GAMES REALLY PICKS UP, AND PEOPLE WILL NOTICE IT THIS TIME AROUND. :)

I find it a little hard to believe that another BG&E game is in production; seeing as how the first one sold so poorly they discounted it weeks after it came out.

I picked up a PS2 copy of BG&E more then a year ago, and I still haven't gotten around to playing it yet. Maybe I'll start it before spring break ends.

Oh, man. I was one of the few people who paid the full $50 bucks for this game. If this game is being made at all, I'll be happy. If this game is being made with special features for Revolution (maybe for the camera elements?), I'll be fucking ecstatic.

The game sold badly because there was no ads at all! There was nothing. They used their money on PoP which was pointless. Then they bitched and moaned about it not selling so they lowered the price in 2 weeks. The thingwas handled as badly as a Fox show. :)

Update: Ubisoft Squashes Beyond Good and Evil 2 Rumor
3/15/2006, 7:40pm Eastern Time

For the past two days, there were rumors circulating on the internet that Ubisoft was developing a sequel to Beyond Good and Evil for all next generation systems (Click here for the original Nintendojo article).

However, when Puissance-Nintendo contacted Ubisoft for a response, they received the following response from a representative: "Absolutely NO sequel to BGE is currently under development. This rumour is pure speculation." The representative did not rule out the possibility of a Beyond Good and Evil sequel, but denied the current development of it.

I was actually going to post that, but the fact that I got my hopes up prevented me from doing so . Hey, they denied REV functionality with Twilight Princess for the longest time...maybe they're just blowing smoke up our asses here too.

I said its making the PS3 look good, because every next-gen game I want will be on it, and BG&E2 would have been on it as well, giving me no reason to buy another console...but of course BG&E2 doesnt seem to exist anymore, but still PS3 has all the games I want for it.

Well here's a postive thought...

They realize how popluar it is, how word of mouth has spread the rumour. Maybe now they will get off their asses and make the sequel and... oh I don't know... ADVERTISE IT!!!!!!

BG&E for me is a game where the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Nothing it did was amazing, but as a whole package the game rocked.

Yeah, Ubisoft shattered my dreams. I guess there's no room for BG&E in the Splinter Cell world.
