Just wondering if anyone knows if companies are massively lowering their investment dollars in new games for current generation consoles.

What is the trend? Are they ramping and re-allocating more funds toward PS3 / 360 / Rev? Are they reducing their investments in current gen thinking customers will buy more of the next gen games?

Or will they continue to make games for the large install base of the current consoles?

I personally hope they will make more for the current generation. From I'm seeing, the latest batches of great games like GOW, RE4, SOC, Farcry Instinct, Burnout, etc. shows they have plenty of experience and quick turnaround (and hopefully cheaper development cost) to make for current gen consoles. I'm referring to the quicker turnarounds for GOW2, Zelda:TP, GTA:SA, etc.

Thanks for your two cents.

Peace.

Sony seems to be making sure the PS2 stays alive for years to come. I mean, look at all the awesome games coming out for it this year, and then we already have GOW2 announced for next year, so if you have a PS2 there is no reason to worry.

For the Xbox and Gamecube though, it seems to be another story. Microsoft has already bailed on the original Xbox, and besides Twighlight Princess, I dont see any high profile games coming out for the GC...

I predict Twilight Princess will be Revo only or something NO ONE would be expecting, a two disc set, one a GC disc, the other a Revo one OR a triple layer GC disc, choice between Revo version and GC version. Personally I would make Princess Revo exclusive. We all know it would make the Revo a system seller.

It's a Gamecube game, nothing will change that. Nintendo's flip-flopped on the Rev.-specific features, but other than that, it's not going to be a Revolution-exclusive title. It should all be one disc, as the Rev. will be able to read those discs.
