View Full Version : *DEAD* Trace Memory & 2 Select (of your choice) NDS Games for $64.88 Shipped
Congrats to everyone who was able to get in on this deal! The deal is now dead, but the orders should ship as I haven't heard anyone's order being cancelled.
Didn't know if any knew this so I'll post it anyways. It's not too hard to do either, just read through and you'll find out. This is mostly if your interested in Trace Memory and can't visit a Toys R Us store, but applies to anyone interested in acquiring some more NDS games for a nice price without ever leaving your house.
If you would like to get 3 NDS games including Trace Memory + 2 NDS games of your choice for under the price of $65 with tax and shipping than read on.
Trace Memory just dropped to $19.99 (so that alone is a nice deal) BUT is still part of the Buy 2 Get 1 Free sale. So what you do is add Trace Memory to your cart, Click Here (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0009G1A2W/qid=/br=1-2/ref=br_lf_t_rz_2//102-5913442-3364928?v=glance&n=13791591&s=toys&m=A3UN6WX5RRO2AG)
Next step is to pick 2 of the following NDS games of your choice by Clicking Here (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/feature/-/603473/ref%3Damb%5Fcenter-1%5F163778001%5F3/102-5913442-3364928), the games to choose from as of now are:
Super Mario 64
Animal Crossing
Mario Kart DS
Metroid Prime Pinball
True Swing Golf
Super Princess Peach
Pokemon Trozei
Got them all added? Next step is to Proceed to the checkout, once you get to the payment area, that's where the cool part begins. Because all of the games where previously $34.99, when you add all 3 games, and enter the code:
TYRT3NDSB2G3
Instead of knocking off 1 of the lowest prices, it credits you $34.99.
Items:$89.96
Shipping & Handling: $6.47
Promotion Applied: -$34.99

Estimated Tax:*$3.44https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/G/01/x-locale/common/transparent-pixel.gif
Order Total: $64.88
So now you can order 3 NDS games shipped for under the price of 2. If you can get free shipping from Amazon than that would make this deal even sweeter! Now I know this isn't the best deal out there, but I'd thought I'd share it anyways to anyone interested. Expires on Saturday 3/18 so act fast.
I do not know if Amazon will cancel these orders because of this, so it's not 100% confirmed, but I doubt it because they don't state of equal or lesser value.

That's pretty good. Never really paid attention to Trace Memory, is that game any good? What's the concept of it?

I actually have never played it myself, but I heard it's some what of a thinking game, and most likely of memorization. I know someone else could probably explain it better, but from what I heard it wasn't too bad of a game.

I got a copy of it a few weeks back at a target for $15 on the clearance rack. Its a adventure, point-n-click game. I really enjoyed the game and say its worth the $20 bucks easily. BTW I have never cared for point-n-click adventures.

Mmm...You can add Mario 64 as well ($30, not a real special deal) and something else...and have each game for ~$16 each +shipping/tax.
Just spent $150 at Amazon on this deal, Tetris, and a USB WiFi connector. Jeeze :(.
Ha ha, addicting! Anyways did you purchase Trace Memory at all through this deal? Because you may be able to get a price difference from it now.

Hm... what a kick in the nuts for me, eh?
I emailed them to see if, by some gracious act of Some Holy Being, they'll give me $15 back to reflect the drop in price... almost definitely not, but it's worth asking.

wow this sounds pretty good, i would have preferred other titles applied like resident evil ds or another newer ds title (maybe castlevania) but princess peach + animal cross + trace memory for $60 is pretty good imo.

Try adding a different title to your cart instead of Trace Memory. Apply the promotional code, but DON'T FINISH YOUR ORDER! Go back to your cart, and delete the different title and add Trace Memory instead. Go through the checkout, and it should remember the promotional code from before without you having to input the code, bringing the balance to $64.88. Worked for me.
Oh and thanks, .JPG! :)

Duh, forgot to thank JPG for the deal! Thanks a lot JPG!
I think what it was is that my email account with Amazon has two passwords, and I already applied the coupon with one password and forgot to log back in with that one since it was already being applied in my other cart :/ Weird, but woo!
I've spent WAAAAAAAAAAY too much this week :( But I got some good deals!

I believe Trace Memory can be compared somewhat to Myst. Seems like a great game from what I saw my friend playing. Probably won't jump on the deal though.

Dang. This is a pretty good deal. I've been wanting Trace Memory for a while. Just wish I didn't already own most of the stuff on the list. I'm mildly interested in Pokemon Trozei and Princess Peach, but not enough to spend the money I have budgeted for Tetris, MP Hunters, and Chibi Robo next week.

03-17-2006, 11:54 AM
Hmm..I'm not sure if I want Trace Memory really, but getting it free for buying 2 titles I planned to buy anyway isn't so bad. I've been on a DS buying spree lately cause I'm going on a trip in a couple weeks, but I dunno if I want to spend the money I had in mind for Hunters and maybe Tetris also. Chibi Robo has been on my mind too. Then we have Kingdom Hearts 2 and Beatmania on the horizon before months end, plus I'm still aching that I haven't picked up Onimusha 4. Damn you Smarch and all your great new releases.

Wow what a great deal... damnit that i already have trace memory...
Thanks OP. I'd been on the fence about this deal, but Trace Memory was one of the games I was interested in, so the cheaper price pushed me over. Picked up Trace Memory + Princess Peach + Mario Kart for < $67.

How much do you get for TC at eb?
Also did you guys see this (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/feature/-/603474/002-9617900-6201629)?
It is get two DS games for $25, the only decent game is Nanostray but if you know someone else who wants a copy it's only $12.50 each plus shipping costs.

When my TRU didn't have Peach, I was almost relieved that I didn't have to spend $70-ish on more DS games. And now you tell me how to get them cheap.... I don't know whether to thank you or slap you.

Trace Memory is an OK game, but I don't think it's not really worth more than $10, as it's only around 5-6 hours long and has very little replay value. The story is quite interesting, though, and is open to much interpretation at the end.
Trace falls in the graphic adventure genre and is very similar to Myst, as others have noted, in that you can't die, there's no "action"(like in "horror" adventures such as Alone in the Dark or Silent Hill), and the gameplay mostly consists of solving puzzles, or taking item A to location B. The puzzles are mainly designed to make usage of the touch screen and microphone, and are all quite easy. It's certainly not Myst in that regard.

Ha ha, I know the feeling. Even myself who posted the deal, still wants to go for the deal, but doesn't have the $65 to do so...

Yes, it's available in-store, but your best bet is to buy online because people have been saying that they can't find the games in-store.

Ordered two trace memory and SPPeach. Thanks OP. Since I recently got rid of my SMB 64 DS for $22 cash to a neighbor I think it's a great deal. Plus ordering two trace memory's and unloading one somewhere shouldn't be that hard.
Plus STOP STOP STOP please STOP with the myst references. I know it goes against pop culture but Adventure is my favorite genre and I hate Myst. Really hate it. I find it boring and stupid. Kings Quest, the Lucas Arts games like Monkey Island, and Indiana Jones, and some of the more recent adventure games. Use anything but that as a comparison. God I can't decribe how boring and horrible I find mist and all it's sequels and clones.
melvoin
03-17-2006, 08:44 PM
I don't like Myst either, but Trace really doesn't compare well to the Lucasarts games or Kings Quest. I'm also a big adventure fan, and I found Trace Memory to be quite disappointing-- primarily because, like Myst, it's essentially just a bunch of puzzles. There's not much "adventuring" to be done here.

I think you should get 2 copies of Mario Kart DS and one copy of Animal Crossing and then sell one of the copies of Animal Crossing for profit.
There are only two good games in that list, and I just said them.

Sweeeeeeet :)
My whining:
About 12 hours ago, I decided to take advantage of the Toys 'R Us "Buy Two Select Nintendo DS Games, Get the Third Free" promotion. At the time, Trace Memory was priced $34.99; it has now suddenly dropped in price to $19.99 since I placed my order. I would like to know if Amazon could and would kindly reflect the change in price in my order and still retain the $34.99 deduction given by the promotion.
Their response? $15.01 refunded on my credit card (well, my mother's credit card, but yeah).
For those of you with similar issues, complain now!

Trace Memory looks a lot more interesting than the SM64DS I was gonna get before, anyway.
