As we speak right now, it is lightning and thundering out like crazy! And the thunder is the fucking loudest thunder I have ever heard. There is also Tornado warnings all around us, so we are going to head downstairs any minute to play games and wait out the storm. Just wondering if anyone else is in any storms right now.

By the way, I live in Omaha, NE

As I am typing right now, its about 75 degrees outside, sun is shining and not a cloud in the sky. A slight breeze is rippling through, cooling down the area. Gotta love that Northern California weather. Must suck for you Specter, but at least you got your games (hope there's no power outage.

It was like that all last week here in Wisconsin. Everyday, there was thunder and lightning. Rain and tornado warnings. Although I didnt see any tornados.

well a couple of hours ago we were at my aunts house for a party, and we were outside.

you could see really dark clouds heading our way, and if you looked at the skyline in the direction of the clouds, u could tell it was rainin its ass off... so we all ran in the garage and as soon as we did, it started rainin like hell.

I got two thunderstorms in a row on monday and tuesday, then on friday i totally forgot that it was pouring outside in one of my classes, then all of a sudden i heard this BOOOOM that shook the damn building and a flash. Then the bell rang for lunch and I looked out the window where the pick-up /drop off place for students is and there were inches of water on the ground. Kinda scary. But that's NE for ya for where I live ;)

CRAP, they are reporting 90 mph winds heading our way and softball size hail. The sky is like pitch black here too! And there is already small branches scattered all over our neighborhood. Please dont let our tree come down!!! We lost our other tree in a storm last year, so if we lose this one, I think I will cry:)

I love storms, but I hate tornadoes! I have been in one, and it was the scariest experience of my life. Here's praying that there isnt a tornado here. And that the power doesnt go out so I can play my games!:)

There's never any storms, tornadoes, and whatnot over here.

Lucky me. =)

As a meteorologist, let me just say that I for one wholly despise the way in which the news media across the nation always tries to play up the weather into being a big "story" for them. Even the NWS goes overboard with truckloads of their "radar indicated" tornados and blanket areas with warnings that are oftentimes unwarranted. Trust me, the time will come when people start ignoring the warnings completely with this overblown syndrome of crying wolf at every storm that passes by.

Nogib is exactly right. Over the past week or two the news has been saying that terrible storms and winds are all about to hit us hard and nothing has happened other than one storm the other night. One meteorologist was showing a black spot on his radar talking about how that means there is 2" size hail, after the storm passed there was no news of any such thing.

Yeah, true. They kept saying before hail the size of golf balls.. and did it hail? Most definitely not. And no winds up to 50 mph. Come on people, (meteorologists) be truthful

i believe they just try and prepare you for the worst..

b/c wouldnt it suck if they were thinking.. well theres a slim possibility that there could be hail... o well i wont tell em, b/c the possibility is so small... and then you have like fukkin softball size hail that fuks up all your vehicles sittin in the driveway, when you could've easily put them in the garage if you had been warned.

When has the weatherman ever been right? When I lived in CT, they were never right! Only 2-3 inches of snow, boom 2 feet fall! Huge blizzard is coming, colse the roads, ha ha ha 1" falls. Every winter!

They just tell you what those storms are capable of producing, not what is actually happening. It's always better to be on the safe side. If they issue a tornado warning because the potential is there for a tornado, and people get underground, and the tornado doesn't happen, that's better than not issuing a warning, then one does happen, and hundreds get smashed by it.

i like when it storms for some reason.. no clue why. i used to be scared as hell when it would storm, because there was a huge ass storm in our town when i was in like.. 6th grade.. and supposedly a tornado had touched down and it was pitch black outside at like 10 AM.. and we all had to sit out in the hall. That kinda traumatized me, but now i really like storms.
