I actually spent some time hunting this phone down after I saw The Matrix. I eventually got in touch with someone at Nokia who told me the phone was only availible in Asia (and in The Matrix) and that it was expensive and completely inoperable in the U.S.

it wont work in North America. It is only GSM 900/1800, which is Europe/Asia/Africa only. The western hemisphere uses GSM 850/1900. You may be able to find one on ebay.co.uk, but it wont work here. Although, at one time I read about someone who bought one and replaced the board with one from a us phone. Not really cheap or easy to do, though.

Why didn't they release in the USA? ESPECIALLY After The Matrix came out? I'm sure they would've made a lot of money off of people that love The Matrix and need a cell phone.

It had something to do with GSM which is another frequency I guess that people use in Europe/Asia and not in North/South America can anyone actually explain it please if you know more about it would love to learn a new thing or two.

GSM is used in NA by Tmobile, Cingular, and other carriers, but we operate on diffrent frequencies than the rest of the world. Now, most every GSM phone made is tri or quad band for int. use, but untill about 2001, it was very expensive to sell multi band phones.
