hey alls, i'm trying to ship something out using paypal shipping. i've never done it before and was hoping to save some time and a little bit of money by using their service.
after i enter all the correct information on the shipping page, it won't let me continue and states, "you have entered invalid options for your shipment. please recheck your entries." what does that mean? i tried to play around with the options, but i can't get it to work. i purposely left something out to see if it would catch it and it did! paypal highlighted whatever i missed in red. however, when i complete all the information on the page, it gives me the error that i stated before, and it doesn't highlight anything! does anybody have enough experience with paypal shipping to help me out? thanks.
edit: i just realized that this might belong in the auction forum. move the thread as you see fit mods :)

Does it really save on shipping? I've never used it before so I can't help you, sorry..
yea, you get delivery confirmation for about a 1/3 of the original price and i can just put it in the mailbox instead of driving to the post office. :)
oh yea, i forgot to mention another question i wanted to ask all the knowledgeable cags. somebody won an auction of mine and i explicitly stated that i only send to confirmed addresses. however, this kid said that he lives at a university and is unable to confirm the address over there. he has about 80 perfect feedback and says that i should still have seller protection from paypal. should i send it to him anyways? or relist my auction? i'm thinking of relisting my auction, but i'm on the fence b/c i need the money quickly to pay off some unforseen medical (actually dental) bills.

LOL my post disappeared I think I deleted it when I went to edit it earlier. I just tried it for the 1st time and yea DC is only $.17 rather than $.50 at the post office. I had no problems using it and i forgot to put in the pacakge type and it displayed it in red.... Not sure what your problem is but i'm glad you had it though because now I can save a lil cash lol. :D
You could always relist the auction if you don't feel comfortable taking the $ from him. If you send it with DC though you should be safe, if he's got good feedback and it's not alot of $$$ i'd prolly go ahead and do it...

anybody? my postman will probably show up in the next 30 minutes or so
Hmmm...I would feel safer sending to his home address. Some things "get lost" in the dorms. (Especially magazines, though that's unrelated.)

That's weird, I just printed out a paypal shipping label a minute ago. Good luck in getting it to work for you though, it's been of great use since I've started using it a couple weeks ago. The only problem is a lot of time I'll still end up driving to the PO to drop off a package because the mailman seems to come sporadically anytime from 3-6 PM(The PO closes at 5:30, I think). At least I save on Delivery Confirmation though.

If it is unconfirmed you have no protection. The guy is full of it. Also, he can get his account confirmed if his bank account address or credit card address is the same as the address on his account. You may want to let him know that before you re-list.

Sometimes PAYPAl will say invalid shippings options if the address doesn't conform to USPS regulations. For example I had to ship something to a "State Highway" 107. Paypal would not accept the address so I did some searching and found out that it had to be writter like this: STH 107. It went thru after I changed it.
I don't like to ship to unconfirmed addresses either but you could ship the item via FEDEX Ground (cheapest) cause they include insurance, tracking, and require a signature for delivery. That way if the person says they didn't receive it you have a way to check if they are lying.
