So if you're a Republican/conservative, what Democrat/liberal do you like, and vice versa? I like Ron Paul, McCain, and Hagel.

I like Zell Miller and Joe Lieberman.
Seriously, though. Arlen Specter and those republican senators in New England (can't think of their names ... Snow?) are about the only person I can think of right now in the modern era. I can't stand McCain.

Dead or alive?
Like E-Z-B I'd have to go with either Lieberman or Miller.
I do have a very big admiration for Harry Truman though.

As much as I dislike him, I have tremendous respect for George Bush..as a runner.
I am a Chuck Hagel fan, otherwise. I liked McCain before he became a windsock.

Barry Goldwater.
Would you have been a member of "Youth for Goldwater"?

No. I don't agree with him in the slightest. But, for someone on the right, he actually wanted to do what he stood for, rather than taking a more Machiavellian approach to politics (which is the gold standard these days).
I can respect principle, except when it's shaded in sheer idiocy. Goldwater had a decent philosophy, but it's one that I vehemently disagree with. Doesn't mean that he's not the last person to claim the title "Republican" to have any credibility whatsoever.

I agree with myke a little here. Goldwater was very principaled, AND he didn't really like the religious right.

You're probably thinking of Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins of Maine, as well as Lincoln Chafee of Rhode Island. All of them are pretty to very moderate Republicans.
Since I'm not a Republican or Democrat, I'll just say the people I tend to like in either party are those who are moderate, including some of the ones mentioned already, or those who are strongly behind certain causes I can totally agree with them on, for example Frank Wolf on Sudan.

Yes, those are the ones. Thanks.
All Liberal Democrats should cast their votes for Chuck Norris.
