Karaoke Revolution Mic question

I was wondering, what Mic is compatible with Karaoke Revolution?

I just bought the Nyko Live pack (the one that has the headset, the puck, and the speakercom) and for some odd reason, KR can't detect it. Does the mic has to offical xbox merchandise only?

I thought it would work with any device. I've used the Mad Catz mic that comes with the Xbox Music Mixer and the standard Xbox Live headset and puck and both worked fine. You can even hear yourself through the headset, which is a nice touch.
