I went to Best Buy today and they had a bunch of these Funimation promotional DVD discs. The best part is it is free. The disc features full length episodes of Baki the Grappler, The Galaxy Railways, Gunslinger Girl (both in sub and dubbed formats) and Mr. Stain on Junk Alley. Lots of trailers too.

Hmm, free is always good. I'll swing by my BB tomorrow afternoon and see if I can find something. Thanks for the tip OP.

Lol Mr. Stain. That sounds really bad.
Anyways everybody please email Funimation and tell them to spend the extra $.05 on quality dvd cases. Case inserts would help too. I'll just download the episodes if they're just going to shit out dvds and put them in a low-quality, empty case. They don't deserve money just because they're "not as bad as 4Kids".
Oh and DO NOT BUY BAKI THE GRAPPLER!!! IT IS GODAWFUL!!! Don't say I didn't warn you.

Hmm? It is free. Why are you complaining about something that is free?

What the?!?!
I buy their Fullmetal Alchemist DVD's on release day and I think that their packaging happens to be the best out of all my DVD's, premium clear cases, reversible covers, heavy stock 16 page insert booklets, full release date calendar insert, and in the latest volumes, a free trading card, plus an excellent dvd in terms of audio/video and media quality, for less than $20.

I understand the comment, actually- the FMA releases are fine, but my Spiral and Kodocha DVDs... not so much. The Spiral cases REEKED, like a burnt vaccum belt, and had buckled fronts. the Kodocha cases don't come with a proper insert, just a Funimation Ad. Bleh.

Ah, well, I guess so...I've never bought any other of their titles...Fullmetal is their biggest license besides Dragon Ball, so I would assume there would be a difference between the smaller series and money makers.

The only problem I've had with Funimation DVD's is that my copy of the Red Ribbon Saga of Dragon Ball were scratched up, but I didn't want to wait another two weeks to send them off for replacements. They still played fine.
The only thing I'd ask of Funimation is to get the Saga of Goku done and released. Every other saga is done, but not the first 13 episodes, as the old crappy dub is the only one that's out now.
I'd like to pick this up so my roommate and I can see just how bad Baki the Grappler is, as we think it's complete shit just from the screens and cases.

Baki the Grappler is so bad, that I couldn't even sit through the opening video. IMO, the only episodes worth watching on the disc are Galaxy Railways(felt sort of average to me, but interesting enough to watch through) and Gunslinger Girl, of which I've seen the whole series and liked a lot. The only thing I didn't like so much about Gunslinger Girl was that the series feels VERY short, and the last few episodes don't offer much closure.
Oh, and the preview for Case Closed was pretty cool. I've seen a few episodes on Cartoon Network/Adult Swim, but didn't have much of a taste for it. But after seeing the preview, makes me wanna watch more of it.

I'm borderline interested in Gunslinger Girl, but not enough to take a risk and get the DVD... this seems ideal for me.
