My friend and I were talking the other night. He said he was probably going to get a 360 for Oblivion. I was helping him figure out what atores might get them in stock first around him, etc.

Anyone, he IMs me today after I left him a message with the Zelda DS trailer. He was in awe. I then sent him to watch the 2005 E3 Twilight Princess trailer. Here's a transcript of the IM after that:

Friend: okay screw any thoughts of getting a 360
daroga28: yes
Friend: so Nintendo doesn't stand a chance in the console wars..... because people are stupid...
Friend: to their credit, they don't care about winning.... they're not even fighting...
Friend: heck, MS and Sony focus so much on hardware specs and what looks the best... the quality of the games get overlooked....

Friend: I've been blinded by the marketing ploys of the big companies for years.... two Zelda trailers have restored my ability to see... wow

Another one won back to Nintendo. I thought I might be in when I convinced him to get a DS with Mario Kart. Now I know I win ;)

... because a 360 costs $400? And if he has a good computer, he can play Oblivion there. Otherwise, wait for a while like the rest of us.

Part of the reason I'm not getting a 360 is that I'm getting older. The older I get the more I realize that supposedly 'kiddy' games nintendo makes are actually a lot more mature than the one's made for the xbox and sony. I don't need 3 consoles laying around. I'm just going to go with the one that I think fits me best. That will be the one nintendo makes.
