If you have a Fry's near you they have name brand ones onsale for less than $100 pretty much every week. Also Officemax had some Liteon on clearance for the past couple of months for laround $70. They are probably all sold out now, so it might be a good idea to call first.

If you want a DVD recorder that's under $120, you only really have 3 choices:

CyberHome DVD Recorder (CH-DVR1600) (http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/CyberHome-DVD-Recorder-CH-DVR1600-/sem/rpsm/oid/120201/catOid/-12876/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do)

ilo Progressive Scan DVD Recorder, DVDR05 (http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=3610576)

Lite On Progressive-Scan Multiformat Recorder (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7567509&type=product&productCategoryId=pcmcat13900050019&id=1130987443557)

Go with the Lite-on, once it goes on sale for under $100.

You can read customer reviews from Amazon.com HERE (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000C5MFZ6/sr=8-1/qid=1144617319/ref=pd_bbs_1/102-3640805-7077725?%5Fencoding=UTF8).

Buy the replacement plan for like $6 for 1 year or $15 for 2 years, I think.
