I'm looking to my fellow cheapasses to help me find a mini-microphone for use on a portable MP3 player for recording interviews. Just one that plugs directly into the mic jack, not one of those cheap lapel ones from the "Shack" I found a bunch on ebay with the majority of them being the "T" type which is fine.

Here's an example of what I'd like to find. http://cgi.ebay.com/STEREO-T-MICROPHONE-W-PANASONIC-MICS-FOR-MD-MP3_W0QQitemZ9701346778QQcategoryZ15056QQrdZ1QQcmd ZViewItem

I'm a month away from E3 and I'd like to have one by then, but otherwise I'm in no rush. If someone has one that they'd sell me that's fine too. Otherwise any recommendations would be helpful as well. Thanks in advance.

Lapel mics are actually really good if you don't get the $20 dollar ones. I don't think the one you linked too would have any better or worse sound quality than a cheapy lapel.

Here's a pretty good steal when compared to its list price ($59.99, now $14.99):

You might need an adapter for that.

If you don't like that one, or don't care about wireless, there's a whole list of cheapies here:

Thanks for the link, I really need something smaller as in no bigger than two inches. It can't have a cord, it must plug directly into the mp3 player so I can hold it to my mouth then move it over to the other persons mouth and so on and so forth. Anyone want to sell me one?

Still no one. I bid on a mic on ebay, I guess that's my best bet.
