Don't you just hate it when you can't delete a saved game?

I just got Pac 'n' roll used (traded for it here), and can't figure out how to delete all the saved data (or if it's possible at all).

Yes, I checked gamefaqs.

It's just bad design, whether it's missing or just hard to find (unless it's done on purpose, to discourage used game sales? but that's just a conspiracy theory).

i think theres a universal button thing when the game starts up to delete saves for any game. I could be wrong though.

I thought you could hold certain buttons and it would give you the option to delete all the data.

This may be a stupid question, but did you check the manual? Because it MAY show it. Also when you start it up, try holding L+R+Start+Select or certain combinations such as those. Maybe A+B+Start+Select. One of them should do it.

Well unfortunately it's not always the same. And L+R+Start+Select is to soft reset, i.e. turn it on and off without using the power button, the system.

Well if that corrupts the data and it doesn't reset that way then you're really sccrewed.

I understand though since I guess Capcom really cheaped out on the memory it used in Street Fighter Alpha 3 for the GBA and so you can't reset the data. Dumbly used a cheat to unlock stuff and now I wish I could have done it myself.

Thankfully if you have a homebrew device you can mess with the save ram of DS carts pretty easily with a tool called RAIN. If I thought you care enough to pay shipping both ways I'd gladly wipe the thing for you.

Try delete that is used for Nintendogs

L+R+A+B+X+Y press all of these as soon as the game starts.

Just look in the manual. Pac-Pix had a similar save feature. In the manual it told you how to reset it. It worked with no problems for me.

basically you can download and upload saves to ds carts anytime you like. Apart from backing up gamesaves to make room for new ones, the only other practical application of this is some games have save editors for windows, most noticably Animal Crossing WW. I'm not going to get into a discussion of the morality of cheating on that, just saying that it's possible.

But here is what it says in the Pac-Pix manual:

Switch your Nintendo DS system ON and hold down the L, SELECT, X, and B Buttons before the Title Screen appears to erase all saved data.

I finally found it in the manual.. it's hidden under the few lines titled "saving the game". I must admit I just skimmed the manual before, didn't read it thoroughly.

The question remains: Why do it like that? Why not just provide a button to do it, like virtually anywhere else?

Well then when you have found the time to sink into an RPG and you let someone monkey with the game they dont accidentially erase everything... I would much prefer them to have this harder combo for deleting saved games on all the portable games..

It's not very easy to delete the data accidentally, either way. In fact, if it weren't for the confirmation Y/N, it would be easier to delete accidentally by pressing random buttons than by selecting an "erase all data?" option. Now, if you're talking about making it difficult to access so that malicious parties won't be able to easily delete it (without the manual...) you might have a point.

Ive actually have been trying to find a way to delete the scores from my "Zookeeper". Been looking around in the manual but have found nothing. Anyone know how to remove the saved data or is it just not possible to do so?
