huh?!
a dumb/rich friend? I took advantage of walmart and Target. During December, Target messed up their ad and said that a DS was $99.99. At the same time, Walmart had a confusing ad that made it look like Seinfel season 5 & 6 were on sale for $10. I go to walmart, show them the ad, they believe the ad and I get seinfeld 5 & 6 for $20. I immeadiatly sell them on ebay for $100 total. 100(money made)-20(how much the DVDs cost)=80 100(DS)-80(profit)= 20

That's an extremely round-about way to say that you purchased a DS for $20. Hell, back when the CC $5 sale was going on, I bought a Marvel vs. Capcom 2 for Xbox and sold it on eBay for $60. I also bought two more the next week from FYE for $30 each and sold both for around $55-$60 each. So, if I used that $100 profit towards 2 brand new games, I could say they were free.
My point: you bought a DS for $99.99 +tax. The other deal was distinctly separate.
Back to the topic at hand, the best gaming deal I have ever had was probably the Christmas that I received my NES as a gift. 8-)

There's not really a single deal that stands out in particular, but there was a week when I got Grandia III for $15, Grandia II for $25, SMT: DDS Deluxe for $20, and DDS 2 for $20... oh, and those were all new and sealed. There might've been some others I got that week (I had a thread about it) but I forgot them.

I'd would say either the summer 2004 Circuit City $5 clearance or the Great $6 Target TV Show price mistake of August 2005 (Sister got Friends S1-9 for $54, Sex in the city Seasons. I've gotten so many great deals that I can no longer pick one out as the best. There was an indy game store in my hometown(which recently closed) that sold copies of Chrono Trigger, Mario RPG, Earthbound, FF3, etc. for $10 when they had them in stock. I bought a lot of the more expensive SNES games that I didn't have there, including those mentioned.
During the GC 3 for $15 deal I probably bought 25 PS1 RPGS for $5 each. I also found a lot of great N64 games during that sale. A few months ago I bought a poorly listed lot of 5 SNES games on eBay that included Aero Fighters for about $20 total.

1a - I also found a sealed copy of World of Outlaws: Sprintcars 2002, put it on eBay. 2 bidders got in a bidding war and it ended up selling for $128. Guy paid that same day.
1b - Found a copy of REZ and traded it for a complete copy of Suikoden 2. The copy of REZ only cost me $29.99

Well, I have several:
Taking advantage of the trade-ins at Gamerush been able to spend around $500 cash and was able to get 2 DSs, a 360, and many games for PS2, Xbox, and PSP. Kuon, Echo Night Beyond, Galleon, and Red Ninja are the main reasons why I was able to get so much credit. Those that frequent the Gamerush thread know what I am talking about.
Being able to take advantage of Gamestop/EB many times with their deals and finding out about them before some of the employees.

Probably either when I got Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance for PS2, new at Circuit City for $5, or when I got my disc-only copy of Tales of Destiny for $5 at a pawn shop.
And I can't forget the time I found a copy of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater for Game Boy Color. Can't beat that! And the game is actually pretty fun, to me.

I work at Game Crazy & last month my boss called me saying that some lady just traded in some NES & SNES games......all like new with the boxes & instructions. I headed straight up to work (thinking they might be easy to find games or cheap sports games) and found out almost all of them were RPGs. I bought up most of what she traded in right away. Here is some of the highlights of what I picked up:
SNES (boxed w/ instructions & cart like new):
Final Fantasy II ($7.99)
Final Fantasy III ($7.99)
Ys: Wanderers from Ys III ($10.39)
Secret of Mana ($3.99)
7th Saga ($1.59)
Box & Instructions for my current mint Zelda: Link to the Past (FREE, because we throw them away anyhow)
NES (boxed w/ instructions & cart like new):
Bard's Tale ($6.39)
Zelda II ($1.59) *cherry condition gold cart
Zelda, Legend of ($1.59) *cherry condition gold cart
Castlevania II: Simon's Quest ($3.99)
Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse ($2.39)
Dragon Warrior ($3.99)
Dragon Warrior II ($15.99)
Dragon Warrior III ($15.99)
Dragon Warrior IV ($19.99)
These are just some of the games & when it was totaled it was very pricey, but I could pass them up at such a cheap price (complete).
Some other deals in the past have been (not neccessarily at Game Crazy): $20 for Sega Saturn (friend), $20 for Sega Gen w/ Sega CD attatched (GameCrazy), XB Marvel vs Capcom 2 for $5 (CC), Ogre Battle 64 for $15 (CompUSA), SNES Illusion of Gaia for $1 (Deals). That's about all that comes to mind.

I've had two fantastic deals that I can't decide between.
I traded Unreal Tournament (worth about $8 at the time) for Quake 3 Arena, Super Mario RPG (cartridge only), Zelda: A Link to the Past (cartridge only), and Super Mario All-Stars (cartridge only). The guy probably just thought that all SNES games were worthless as it was an old system.
Another time I bought a Sega Nomad, Phantasy Star IV (complete), Phantasy Star II (complete), Shining Force (cartridge only), Vay (Sega CD, complete but manual was torn up), Lunar The Silver Star (Sega CD, complete), Streets of Rage (complete), Streets of Rage 2 (complete), Sol-Feace (Sega CD), Sherlock Holmes (Sega CD), Sega Classics Arcade Collection (Sega CD), and Ys III (complete) all for $90. I didn't really care about the games so I've sold most of the games for over $150. So I basically got the Nomad (which generally are around $60-$80) for around negative $60.

Just recently I was browsing the electronic section in my local craigslist and ran into a guy selling his gamecube for $15. In his post it said that he wanted to get rid of it and was pretty much giving it away. I already own a gamecube but for $15 I might as well get a backup. I came to pick it up and noticed that it also came with a memory card and two wireless controls. That must have been the best deal I've had in a while, right next to paying $230 for my bigger video game deal of a Sony PS2 w/2 controllers, memory card, MGS 3: Subsistence, shadow of the collossus, I love katamari, katamari damacy and a Nintendo Gamecube w/2 wireless controllers, 3 regular controllers, 2 memory cards, Animal Crossing, Pikmin 2, Mario Tennis, Skies of Arcadia, Super Monkey Ball 2, Skies of Arcadia Legends, Zelda Collector's Edition, and Megaman Anniversary. So Now I'm stuck with 3 gamecubes, and 2 PS2s after these deals.

The Panzer was with about 10 other Saturn games and a beat up console that looked like a dog pissed and shat on it for about 6 years. But the game was in a somewhat mint condition, which I always thought was odd. The other deal was late in the day, and I guess the women wanted to get rid of her stuff. Im sure there was more at the sale, in fact I remember seeing a 2600 with a bunch a games in a suitcase, but I was late to work and had to roll.

Purely videogames, I'd say it was finding 3 copies of Valkyrie Profile sealed at TRU for $20 each (Also got 3 sealed copies of Lunar 2: EB Complete at the same time for the same price).
My favorite deal though was when I was buying a HDTV in preparation for my 360 last fall. I bought a refurbed Sony 34" (34HS420) for $700 after a coupon, it was a nice enough TV but not drool worthy like the higher-end Sony CRTs. However, when they brought the TV out to my car it was a new 34XBR960, Sony's top of the line CRT (~$1700). And man does it look nice with my 360 and HD programming.

A while back I walked into a CompUSA and they had a bin of cheap games. Most were $5 and under I think. The thing was many of them had $10 rebates on them. Even though the rebate said they wouldn't give you more than the cost I still ended up getting a big pile of $10 rebates in the form of gift cards which I then used to get a DS for free and a Saitek X52 joystick for a good chunk off.
In a non-gaming story back when eBay first started the buy it now option I bought a large lot of old Transformers in excellent condition for $40. It included many of the most sought after ones like the Dinobots and most of the first 2 years of the line in immaculate condition. I think there were about 40 or 50 TFs in all. At the time I estimated the lot was worth about $1500-2000 based on eBay prices. Most of them have since been reissued and are worth less now though but it was still a great deal.
Edit: Forgot about this one. I had gone with a friend to Best Buy where he was going to buy some laptop on sale. We got in as they opened he was the 5th person on line. The ad said minimum 12 per store. They had 4. We both complained to Best Buy and the state attorney general and the BBB. The end result was us both getting $50 gift cards from both the store we went to AND Best Buy corporate for a total of $100 apiece. Not really a deal but I like free money.

i wouldn't call this a deal, but it was a crazy experience i had and ...looking back, i feel bad about it... ;o anyway,
when PS2 wasn't even out in US, i bought a ton of Japanese PS2 games from buyrite for 9.99 and sold them on ebay for 80+.....sold at least 30~40 copies, and then back when Metal Gear Solid 2 was just announced, Asia market got this weird DVD with some videos on it (not games)...people on ebay were paying 120+ for the DVDs.. i bought about 20 copies from buyrite1.net at the time for 9.99 each and sold them on ebay...made a ton of money
used those money to buy myself a Apple Powerbook and spent the rest on a ton of stuff that i don't even remember what

These threads (one gets started like this every few months) always run wild because they aren't defined very well.
If its the most money made on a gaming deal:
$450 in profit for being a 360-selling bastard or
$200 in profit selling a WOW CE ($40 at Target)
Best percentage return on money spent:
.60 copy of Skies of Arcadia guide that sold for over $60 on ebay
Best "deal" in the long term:
Flipping $5 games for $10-$13 in EBGames credit (for many months and making quite a bit of credit which made all kinds of purchases cheaper by 50%)
Cheapest game:
.01 copy of Midway Arcade 2 (TRU)
Best deal on a new game that I wanted:
$16.88 for GTA SA on release day (wrote a whole thread on the Target raincheck)

I totally scored in Gamestop's B2G1F. I walked into a store I visited not even a week ago and walked out with three Gamecube games I had not seen the last time I was there:
Disney Sports Football - $14.99
Beyond Good & Evil - $12.99
Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time & Master Quest - free
Free... how? The price tag said $9.99! Whoever had processed the trade-in had used the SKU for the N64 game by mistake, and as a result, I now have a free copy of Master Quest which sits alongside my $20 black-label Wind Waker.

One of the best off the top of my head was when I picked up 3 Gamecube bongos and 3 Wavebirds to finish off my set for $3.74 each last September at Target. It was a combination of a 50% off store closing sale and a 75% off clearance.

There's been a few good deals over the years, here's the three best off the top of my head -
1. Complete copy of Suikoden - $6.99 at Gamerush (purchased with credit)
2. Fallout double-pack - 25 cents at K-Mart (cent for cent probably the best deal I've ever gotten)
3. New PSP and 2 games - $0 at Gamerush on launch day. Granted, I traded-in a bunch of crap over a few weeks to get the credit but I never got rid of anything I missed. I consider it a great deal looking back.

But I nabbed Guitar Hero used on Ebay for 54 bones(40 base price, 15 bucks for Priority Mail, 3-Day delivery). Complete in box, the stickers were in tact, all manuals. Didn't look like it'd ever really been removed from the box at all, aside from the game(wasn't sealed, but again, looked pristine).
Best deal I've managed so far, but I'm pretty new to regular game buying.

Best deal i have ever gotten was a 50 inch Magnavox projection TV that the guy that used to live above me left by the trash.
My wife and I went out to get Pizza and i had to test it. We wheeled it over to my window and ran an extension cord out. As we were testing it, the guy opened his window and told me that i could have it as he was moving. It worked perfectly, however a 50 inch tv in my little apartment was too big.
I sold it on Craigslist for 450$ and bought a nice 32 inch HDTV for a total of 50$ out of pocket.
That was a good day... and the lesson is, always look in the trash.

My best deal, that would have to be a toss up between the 2 Hunter games for Xbox that I just bought at a thrift store 2 weeks ago for $2.45. Sadly, the second one, Redeemer, was just stuffed into the case for Reckoning and neither had instruction manuals.
The other would be all the games I swapped into FYE to get enough credit up to buy a slim PStwo(after rebate deal, if they ever get the fucking thing right) for about $32.
And of course, my recent purchase of MAT2 for XBox for $2 from a local Kmart.
21 sealed, just-released XBOX, PS2, and GCN games + a NIB XBox wireless adapter - $220 total at game store owner's garage sale in late 2004
FFI NES - $5 at a flea market
Complete NES system + 8 games + complete Dreamcast system + 5 games - $6 at a garage sale
And not game-related, but I got an $1100 Knoll Platner coffee table at a garage sale for $80 yesterday :)

Hmm... the best deals I've gotten that I can think of are Final Fantasy VII PC (new) for $10 back in 2000, Bust A Groove (used, complete) for about $15 back around 2002-2003, and the Dreamcast maracas (used, complete) for $40, also around 2002-2003.

About 8 months ago I got a call at work from my g/f telling me she was at good will and they had some nintendo games she was going to get for me.
So when I got home I see this big green laundry tub in the middle of the living room with a piece of tape on it that said $20. Inside was a complete NES with two official nintendo game storage things with 35 mint games inside all with instructions and one of those nintendo guides that covers almost all of the first party games. Also there was a complete SNES inside with 4 games w/ instructions one of the games was FFII. Was a nice $20 gift to come home to.
Also I picked up a mint mini SNES at a garage sale for $15 a while back.
