View Full Version : saver and cag15 not stackable
I tried to stack the saver and cag15 on the ebgames website and it appears that you can only use one coupon. So you can't stack them anymore. Anyone else tried?

Yea, Gamestop owns EB now and they are no longer stackable, blame crappy Gamestop! Also, this is the wrong forum. :)

When they merged with GS, I think they took off the stackable coupons.

I pretty much will not buy any used games from EBgames/Gamestop websites. No stackable discounts, no case/instructions and higher prices. I'd rather just go to the store and buy them. I highly doubt we will see random price drops on new games anymore.

Correct. This started when the EB site took on the GS look. You also can't use your Edge card online last I checked.

Can't use your Edge card? That's messed up, but at least there's still CAG15 (although not stackable).

But then add shipping and sales tax. Assuming 6% sales tax (my state) and the 1.99 shipping there's really NO cost reason to buy online.
$20 game:
19.08 in store
20.01 online
$30 game:
28.62 in store
29.02 online
$45 game:
42.93 in store
42.54 online

With CAG15 and 7.5% tax, a $45 game would be $43.26 online. In-store it would be $43.54.

I guess that means you can choose between .28 or a dirty, scratched, and incomplete game. I miss EB's old "Box and Instructions included".

It was inevitable, so now it's made official. Oh the memories of utter cheapassnes from the days of EB are gone. No stackable coupons, can't use EB Edge card online...why bother? Also one thing not mentioned (or maybe it was in another forum) was the COMPLETE removal of the Wish List. It took me a good 2 years to develop it now it's GONE. I have no IDEA what was on it but there was a lot. WAY TO F ME UP EB/GAMESTOP.....Another one bites it big time......

But if I save 28 cents on 6 games, I can afford to wash a load of laundry...

This is just one more reason to give Gamecrazy or Game Rush your business and to stop buying from Gamestop. It amazes me that such a shitty company could rise to the top of the game retail business.

Did you do the math? I'm guessing not. For a $45 game it's pennies cheaper to buy it online, which is hardly worth it. And it just gets worse (for online) for lower priced games.
Online: $45-15%=$38.25 (CAG15). 38.25+5%=40.55 (tax). $40.55+1.99=$42.54 (shipping and total).
In store: 45-10%=$40.50 (Edge) $40.50+6%=$42.93 (tax nd total).
Results will vary slightly depending on your tax rate, but not too significantly.

Yeah, of course. You couldn't beat 25% off shipped free compared to 10% off in store.

I haven't bothered with morning updates for a while, but there's essentially no reason to now.
RIP EBgames.com. Chalk up another lost customer.
/me is a blue panda bear
This is just like when scientists combined the African bee and European bee and created the killer bee. Only worse!
I wonder if they even let you combine an online gift card code with a coupon code now...
Couldn't Cheapy (being the awesome guy he is) try and contact EB to get a coupon that is 15% off + Free shipping for CAG's? He got CAG15 + 16 for us, maybe he could get that for us also which would be incredibly awesome. Think it's possible?

No. If Gamestop wouldn't give any decent coupons when they had EB as competition they certainly aren't going to be inclined to do so now.
