A complete copy of Shining Force CD is available for $75. I have $78 in trade in credit, and I could get $55 in cash if I withdraw it. So, I'd essentially be getting Shining Force CD for $55. Should I go for it?

Its one of the games I've sought after the most, period, but $55 seems a little steep. It doesn't seem like I'm getting much of a deal. But, I also can't say that I'll ever find it cheaper than that.

I don't know the value of it, but getting it will put your mind at ease, that is worth 55 dollars. Just think of it as a new game, I'm sure you'll get just as much enjoyment as if it were a new game.

I concur. If its a Holy Grail for you, get it and enjoy it. Think of all the crappy games you used to pay $50 for at launch. For something you really want, $55 is nothing.

seems like 55 would be allright for it... you coould always sell it after you beat it and get around 75. heres an auction for it now http://cgi.ebay.com/Shining-Force-CD-Sega-CD-Genesis-CDX-COMPLETE_W0QQitemZ8273604017QQcategoryZ62053QQssPa geNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem#ebayphotohosting

If you bite on that, wouldnt it reduce the value? Plus you could break your teeth!

Ba-dum-dum! Tssssss. Im here all night folks, but make sure to leave the kinds at home for the 10pm show, it gets a little blue.

But seriously, if thats a game youve been dreaming about forever, I say go for it. You'd probably just take that credit/cash and use it to buy 6 or 7 mediocre games. Might as well have one you really love and want.

Hmmmm, this gives me a thread idea...

If I were wavering like that I probably wouldn't. Check average ebay prices, it's actually around $50 + shipping. I would probably try to sell the credit if I were you, and you'd probably end up with around $70 if its a store that cags shop at often. Then pick the game up eventually when you find a really good deal.

But if you are heavily craving for it, go for it!

I checked the average ebay price before, it does average around $50- $60 for a complete copy, there were a few disc only copies that went for $40-$45, some complete copies that went for $60, and some that went for $80-$90.

Oh, and I've never paid $50 for a new game. A couple times with store credit (and I can still tell you what games they were), but never $50 cash.

I just don't know... I am kind of strapped for cash at the moment, and I'd use that store credit for any future purchases, but there aren't really any games coming out that I want right away. Battlefield 2 for 360 was a candidate but after playing the demo, I'm not buying it.

This is my favorite game of all time, but I'm really not getting much of a deal on it, either. But how often do you get to buy it at all?

If it's in mint condition, I say go for it.
