I was pretty surprised yesterday to hear a review of Brain Age for the DS on National Public Radio yesterday afternoon (I think during All Things Considered--it may be on the website, I haven't checked).

My first thought was, "wow, Nintendo really is managing to grab the attention of new audiences." It was a pretty straightforward radio review describing how the game works and all, and the reviewer noted that he may have to buy his wife her own DS because she enjoys it too.

All, in all, just kind of neat. They sometimes do features on gaming during times like E3, but I have never heard just a plain old review of a video game before! Books, movies, albums, stage productions...sure. But a video game? Verrrrrrrry interesting.

Here's a short blurb about it, with a link to the audio:

I only remember them doing one other video game, and that was Katamari Damacy.(I was surprised to say the least.)

nice! ATC is a good way to get to the audiences they are trying to attract with Brain Age.

First the Wall Street Journal, now this. Nintendo's pushing the non-traditional game marketing hard. I'm very, very interested to see how this does...

Actually, I did. These are national outlets that are reaching the not-necessarily-internet-savvy people.
