I'm trying to decide between these two games now that I have WiFi in my house. Two really different games, so I'm wondering what you guys are having more fun with right now?

They're each so different, yet insanely fun! I bought MPH first, but after a few days I had to get Tetris as well. Do yourself a favor and get both!

They're both fun, people are already really really cheap on MPH multiplayer and just spam the shock coil. My left hand also still always hurts with MPH.

Tetris is fun and people can't really be cheap multiplayer, but they're very different games so it's hard to compare them.

Spam the shock coil? For someone that has never played this, could you elaborate?

Oh yeah, sorry :-P. Have you ever played counterstrike where somebody will use an AWP all the time? If not, you still have no idea what I'm talking about, but the shock coil is a gun that drains the target's energy and gives it to you, you don't have to have really good aim with it and it goes a pretty long distance, so people just spam that and run around after you sucking your energy. It's hard to fight against since you'll have to fire at them with better aim then they need to keep a good lock on you with the shock coil and all the while they're gaining energy by draining yours. Needless to say, it's annoying as hell on a small map.

That sounds pretty cheap. But I'm sure the users of that weapon will fall back on the "if it's in the game, then it's not cheap" line. But I know cheap when I see it!:D

tetris, I bought both at launch and already traded MPH.

I'm leaning this way. The only thought I have is that if I don't get Metroid right away I'm bound to be so far behind the rest I won't be able to compete online.

I chose Tetris for the following reasons:

1) Replay value - nearly unlimited, both single- and multi-player...while Metroid has the same kind of value in single player, half of the game is completable and doesn't offer the same kind of draw to replay.

2) Pick-up-and-playability - Metroid is a game that, even when you master the control scheme, its hard to lie on your stomach in bed or casually pick up your DS in a public place and totally pwn...it takes quite a bit of focus, at least from my experience with the gameplay, and frankly, I like games that are a little less involved and a little easier to have fun with

3) Multiplayer - I'm a big fan of PC FPS games, but not console FPS games, and probably even less so of a DS FPS. As well as the game is made (I would say they couldnt have made it any better) its still a genre I don't care to play on a handheld...especially deathmatch. Deathmatch FPS multiplayer is an energy-consuming and attention-demanding gameplay style, and completing against some really good players often means you will be hunched over your screen in 100 percent engaged-mode, and frankly, for multiplayer, I'd like something a little less demanding.

Not only that, but the single cart multiplayer in Tetris is amazing.

Anyways, its all about what genres you like. I usually like FPSs more than puzzle games, but the amount of modes and replayability in Tetris made it a must buy for me, really.

I think both are definitely worth buying though...then again...Mario is on the horizon...I may not buy Metroid for a while...

I think Metroid Prime Hunters is worth it for the single player alone. You also can play bots instead and they can be set at any difficulty level. I get brutally killed everytime I try to play people online but not from them abusing any gun or anything. I haven't played online lately so I probably played mostly before people found anything that could be abused.

Haven't purchased tetris yet. I'm going to wait til it drops in price.

Obviously you've played Tetris before, so do you like it? If you like Tetris you'll like the DS version, if you like a Halo sort of game, get Metroid. Metroid is a great game because of the Wi-Fi. I haven't played the single mode much because the Wi-Fi is so addicting and awesome to compete against other players online.

Do you want a puzzle or action game is the big question? I like Tetris, but I prefer an action shooting game which brings out more of the DS's capabilities than I would think Tetris would in my opinion.

Well said. I think this post convinced me to get tetris.

Metroid was very disappointing. I know they worked hard on the control or whatever, but there's a reason this hasn't already been done well.

Mildly fun game, but after clearing the first planet, I played for about 10 minutes on the second and have no desire to go back to it.

Tetris rules both online and off, I've played it constantly.

Setup MPH to dual left and you're golden (uses both sets of buttons as D-pads). No need for stylus.

As for shock coil being cheap... pick up an imperialist (sniper rifle) and head shot them :twoguns:.

I'm still waiting on Tetris to drop to $20, but from what I hear I might have to buy it now.

I bought Tetris over the weekend. Maybe I'll see some of you online.

The one argument against Tetris DS that I've heard, that infinite spin "kills" the game...I'd just like to point out that I think its a load of BS.

Now, I'm not a Tetris purist, nor a hardcore fan, so maybe the insanely hardcore Tetrimonians can justify the complaint, but when you play this game and get to level 20, you realize that there is no way to get any further WITHOUT using infinite spin...the blocks just appear one or two block lengths above your stack. Its not like its some glitch or a hack...the game was designed with infinite spin in mind. Sure, it would be nice if, for the purist's sake, they could have included an option to turn it off, but frankly, all that would do is lower the avg. amount of level achieved or lines erased.

Anyways, I'm in major love with the game right now. Just had my best marathon session ever...359 lines, level 39, 811,203 points. It was fricking awesome. I've never done that well, ever. I almost got back to the old school tetris level (20, 40) Frick yea. Hope I can get my bro to buy it so we can wifi it up.

Lates.

go to BB and download a demo of Tetris before deciding.

I have both & think they are both kinda ....meh. I suck at Tetris though, I have to get better so I can get more out of the game. MPH dosen't have enough save spots for short on the go gaming.

Seems to me there's a third option here, guys -- buy neither! I'm burned out on the Metroid Prime stuff, and although I have Tetris DS, I've found that you can never go home again... (I miss the original GBA version)

Why not just save up for New Super Mario Bros? That one's gonna be essential.
