Though probably not as rare anymore as the PS2/Xbox versions, I was happy to finally find a copy of Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 used/complete at a local game shop.
I know it's been covered, but why are the Xbox and PS2 versions going for more than the Dreamcast one now? Isn't the DC version the arcade perfect version?

Because a hell of a lot more people own a PS2 or Xbox these days as opposed to a Dreamcast. Even though I feel the DC version is the best, and that is what I own as well.

Not arcade perfect but better IMO then the XB&PS2 versions. The DC control is more comfortable for this game as well.

I have it for DC (disc only) and PS2, and usually play more on the PS2 cos I have some Hori Real Arcade Pro sticks, and I dont have a DC adapter for them.
I do have a sweet 6 button digital gamepad for my dc tho. Only released in Japan, but I found it used at an EB for $3. :D

Good job on that one. The Dreamcast version is the best one and I think that the game's pretty much identical to the arcade version graphically given that it originally ran on the Naomi hardware.

Thanks. I sold off my original DC copy of this game years ago and have been looking for a new one ever since. Problem is all the prices I ran into on ebay were $50-60+ and I could never find it used in stores. I guess I got lucky this time around. Now I just need to find a working Dreamcast :)

I sold my copy on eBay a couple weeks ago for $30 shipped. Granted it was pretty scratched up, but it played fine and the buyer was apparently very happy with it.

If you're looking for another copy of Marvel vs Capcom 2, you should check estarland.com from time to time. It's more expensive but I got a complete mint copy a few months ago.

so I ordered the Korean version for $15 shipped
I hope that you know by "Korean version" it probably means bootleg, I've seen those on Ebay for months.
I picked my Dreamcast copy up at a local pawn shop a few years back for $10. (Mint condition) I was extremely happy with the purchase, as I played the hell out of the game.

I ordered one from EB (DC version) well over a year ago (if I remember correctly it was about $15 after coupons and everything) and my brother found another copy at Gamerush for $7. Neither copy is in outstanding condition or anything but we both agree it's one of the best fighting games out there and we certainly got our money's worth.
I got a mint/complete copy of the PS2 version a few weeks ago at a pawn shop for $12.00. Very cool game, wish I had more time to play it. Enjoy the game OP!

you sure about that? it says it's sealed and all that and it's an american seller.
in any case, I just asked the seller and told him if it's a bootleg, he's getting a negative :)

There are Korean versions of games that are legit. Ive seen them for sale on import sites like Lik-Sang, and Playasia.

just curious, it looks like the Dreamcast version of MvsC 2 has gone back up to silly prices? anyone know why?

I picked up a copy of Marvel vs Capcom 2 for the Dreamcast when it came out and I still have it to this day, mint and complete. I have the PS2 version, but I prefer the Dreamcast version just cause it's plain awesome to play with the DC controller.

Holy crap, I sold mine for next to nothing compared to these prices! Oh well, I basically sold it for what I paid for it and had 5 years of fun with it.

That one is a fluke... many of them are ending for $25 - $40. That person just got pretty lucky.

I got both Dreamcase Marvel vs. Capcom 1 & 2 complete & mint for $4 each at a flea market 2 weeks ago. Sorry, but I was waiting until one of the bragging posts came up before I put out the info.
Now that, was an awesome find!

Not to trump you, but I'd like to brag as well. Years ago when I first got my DC (a month before they announced they were going to stop making them), my friend told me that he could score some games from his cousin. Thus, I got MvC2 AND Powerstone 2 for FREE because my friend's cousin bought a Playstation 2 and didn't want them anymore. Plus the games were in mint condition since he never liked fighting games - he got both as a gift.
Years later I stumbled upon this site and when I found out how rare they were I giggled like a schoolgirl.

*gets in the brag line* I got MvC2 for DC two weeks ago at a yard sale for $3. Sold it on eBay for $42 BIN.
