I'd say Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter, great game, and great Online experience if you plan on that.

I would say Condemned. Play it at night, scariest game ever. Avoid Perfect Dark, the game is a stinker

I was thinkging about that one. Would be funny to see her get scared by the crazy guys...and probably scare me too :)
I had a question...Does the market place have demos of all the games for free? My friend told me that any XB360 game has a free demo you can download.

I don't think you should be buying a 360 if you only can think of one game to get for it. And the game isn't even exclusive (also on PC).

The man asked what games he should get for a 360. He didn't ask to be given reasons why not to buy one. Sheesh..
G.R.A.W. is definitely worth buying (I just beat it). I'd stay away from Ridge Racer and Project Gotham. RR is simply more of the same (but a little more frustrating) and PGR is, well, PGR. I hear Oblivion will get you hooked (I'm too busy playing WoW to be bothered). Oh, and Xbox Live Arcade has some great games too. AstroPop, Jewel Quest (think Bejeweled but more complex) and of course, Hexic which comes with the system.

By the way, if you want to raise the WAF (Wife Acceptance Factor) show her how the console can play her mp3 files off her computer while she plays some of the puzzle games. I've had to fight my wife off the 360 ever since she found out about that. :D

I've got RR, PGR3, NFS:MW, and Burnout. I only played the Full Auto demo. Any racing games I forgot?
Anyway, my vote for most fun is Need For Speed: Most Wanted. Loading times are good, graphics are really nice (although having realistically blinding sun in my face is sometimes annoying), and I think it's the most outright fun racing game on the system right now.
RR6 and PGR3, I felt, were just more of the same. Sure, get Burnout if you don't already have it and want some battling mixed in with your racing.

Why in need for speed do they call you on the cell phone for nothing? I thought that was annoying as hell.

As a mod can you please sticky a "what games should I get for 360" thread to the top of this forum?
I'm not saying this to be a prick or to shit on anyone, but it was annoying when I'd go to the Xbox forum and see at least one "what games should I get" thread per week. I really don't want the 360 forum to turn into that.
Thanks.

GRAW or PDZ if your an FPS Fan
I played NFSMW on PC, and that was a great game as far as the racing games

Top games to me are:
1. Condemned this games was great. Still my favorite of the bunch
2. GRAW the single player's graphics are just WOW! The mulitplayer doesn't have the real time lighting that the single player has but still looks great.
3. Call of Duty 2 a great single player campaign and now mulitplayer is fixed.
4. Kameo is a very pretty game and fun to play. They also finally added the live co-op patch too.
I also really enjoyed NFS MW and Burnout.
Out of all the racing games I rank
1. NFS MW (I know its a port too, but I did not play the xbox version and have not played NFS series in a while so I really enjoyed it!)
2. PRG3
3. Burnout Revenge just because it is a port and I played it a lot already on Xbox
4. Ridge Racer
Most of the EA games have demos on the Marketplace. As well as GRAW, COD2, AMPED3, Quake4, Kameo, Condemned, Blazing Angels, Full Auto, Outfit and Tomb Raider.
You can get the full list here XBOX Demos on Marketplace (http://www.xbox.com/en-US/live/marketplace/demos.htm)
I know not many people are going to agree with me on this BUT i want to recommend Kameo. Its a great game, youll put about 12 hours into single player and it just got a co-op mode forXBL. Of Course Ghost Recon is still the best game on the system and Condemned isnt too far behind.

On that note, I know phones do both voice and text, but what made them decide what messages to give the player in which form? Personally, I rarely ever text anyone; what's so hard about just talking to them or leaving a voice mail?

While this is a decent enough idea, the management of said list would be more than I (or most mods for that matter) have time for. If anyone in the community would like to start, and more importantly maintain, a list of 360 games and their associated CAG rankings, I don't see any reason not to sticky it. As long as the thread is constructive and useful.
It also helps if Cheapy anoints said Sticky. :D

For sports games, I like NBA 2K6...stay away from LIVE.
Ghost Recon is a must have also. Oblivion is fun for the RPG fans...

I like RR6 but I can respect peoples more of the same answer.
Condemned doesn't seem bad to me and for XBLA games Geometry Wars is a MUST as well as me suggesting Gauntlet here.

Well I have 22 games for the 360 so here is what I think have been the top 5.
1)Oblivion - OP: you stated that you didn't have time for this but I just wanted to give its props. If you had the time, this is worth your hard earned money.
2)Condemned - one my favorite games on any console. Great gaming experience (beat it in 11 hours - though I didn't get every secret). Atmosphere second to none.
3)GRAW - haven't played single player very much but the multiplayer is excellent and the coop campaigns are very fun.
4)Burnout Revenge - out of the 5 racing 360 games I have fun...I keep coming back to this. I have never played Revenge on the current gen consoles (because I knew it was coming to the 360). If you have played the current gen console version of this extensively, you may want to wait for a price drop. The online portion of this game is excellent.
5)The Outfit: Multiplayer is where its at. Extremely fun online game...single player is average fair.
Other notables:
Rumble Roses XX - underrated game. Extremely satisfying gameplay and lag free online play. Only issue I have with the game is that its a pain to unlock all the unlockables.
Top Spin 2 - more realistic than Top Spin 1. Higher learning curve but a great Tennis game overall.
Fight Night Round 3 - best boxing game I have ever played. If your looking for a game like Tyson's punch out - stay away (though my 2nd favorite boxing game of all time).
Dead or Alive 4 - IMHO the best of the Dead or Alive series. If you like 3D fighters, this is a great one.
XBLA games: Geometry Wars, Marble Blast Ultra, Joust, etc.

Well.. I avoided a trip to NYC last night by giving the local Eb a call and they had one left. I picked up Condemned, PD Zero and COD2. I only bought used games with my discount since I cant justify paying 60 bucks a pop. Im going to be making money on the side in the meantime to get a few more games, but the used selection is a little skim right now. My friend also thought that achievment points were used to buy marketplace things, so I am kinda pissed about the fact that I still have no points.....They should give you at least 1000 points for buying the system.
Does anyone know how to score a few free points?
EDIT: BTW Thanks go out to Daphatty for the mp3/puzzle game tip. The mp3 stuff worked and so did movie trailers.

If there was, don't you think you'd see a gigantic thread about it?

Going way off main topic here, but what's bad about it on Live? I have it but haven't gone online with it at all other than to get roster updates. Besides the fact that I'd get my ass handed to me, what's wrong with it?

- The ElderScrolls IV: Oblivion
- Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter
- Fight Night Round 3
- Call of Duty 2
XBLA:
- Marble Blast Ultra
- AstroPop
- Outpost Kaloki X
