Looks pretty good. I just picked up another wireless controller so this may be very useful.

I can't help but feel the controller/battery combo was designed specifically so that Microsoft could sell two different charging accessories (Play & Charge/Quck Charge).

Would it really have been difficult to design the battery to that it could be charged via Play & Charge without being connected to the controller?
Borderline shady, if you ask me (nobody has).

That being said, I'm sure I'll be able to find this for $12 or so in Akihabara at some point and I'll pick it up then.

The $30 price is a little rediculous IMO seeing as the play and charge is only $20 (and it comes with an extra battery as well). If it came with two batteries okay then, but alas no. I like the play and charge too, it's easy if I start to get a low battery signal I just hook it up to my computer before I leave for work or something, come home and it's charged again. So in short, I'll keep my $30 for now.

PEOPLE! WAKE UP!!!!

$30 will net you a PIMP ASS rechargeable battery set, complete with MULTIPLE NiMH AA batteries which can be used for MUCH more than just a wireless game controller.

I just bought 20 rechargeable batteries from Fry's for $20. Yep, $20!!!!! That $1 a piece!!! A charger, even a small one can be had for $10.

Don't be a mindless consumer!

another battery and 1 plug and charge kit are enough for my 2 wireless controllers

PASS.
I have a charger now that lets me play the game while it charges. Dont need this one.

I did find this funny tho...

"The Quick Charge Kit has a user friendly lighting system - a red light indicates the kit is in "charging" mode and a green light indicates that batteries are "fully charged.""

I think that should be re-typed to "my mother friendly system". Because I dont see how anyone could not understand the red and green lights...except for my poor Mom. =)

Yeah like daphatty said I think all of the Microsoft battery products aren't worth it. I got my Energizer charger and though I got the slow one it works great for both my 360 controller and Wavebird. I got 4 batteries with it so when ever a 360 controller is getting low I just swap with the other set and repeat. I also figure that Energizer, Duracell, and the other battery makers top of the line rechargable battery is probably of higher capacity than the 360 rechargable pack.

Rayovac 24 pack for under $8 = 420 hours of gaming with no charging.

I'll stick to my 2300 mAh Powerex rechargeables.

Since we're talking NiMH batteries. Can brands be mixed? Like can I get an Energizer charger and then get Rayovac batteries? Also, where can the 24 pack of Rayovac for 8 be bought at?

I'm all over this. I've been waiting for it since the shots were leaked late last year. I'll be picking mine up as soon as I can find it.

menikmati, do your Powerex batteries work well with the 360 controller? How long do they last? I just bought some 2500 mAh 1.2 V AA Powerex batteries (plus some AAA's.)

Also, does anyone know the specifics about the Microsoft battery? Like voltage and mAh?

Sure. The only charger I've ever used on my Duracell NiMHs is an Energizer. Works fine.

I really don't have an accurate timing of how long they last, but they work very well. I have 4 batteries so I just swap them out when one set dies down.

If I were to do an estimate, I'd probably guess around 10-12 hours, I've played an average of 2 hours a day during the weekdays and like to charge every weekend.

I agree completely. Walmart, targets etc have 8 AA's batteries and a charger for $10. So you have batteries for your 360 controller(s), tv remote, digital camera etc. I wonder to this day why do we still have normal batteries in the stores.

I've probably only have to charge my NiMH that came with my play and charge kit like only once, and I've had it for a month now. Then again, I probably play about a total of 20 hours a week on my system so far. Probably gonna be bumped up once Dead Rising hits the street lol

I'm picking one up (hopefully tomorrow). I like the idea of always having 2 batteries charged and ready just in case. I guess I could go the rechargable AA route, but I've already got 3 rechargable battery packs for my 360, so it's a little late to change my mind now.

Picked one up today while at the mall, looks really neat in my room. It charged the battery that comes with it in about 90 min.
