Alright, so I like to keep things clean all year long, but today I decided to spruce up my gaming/electronic stuff.

I've been using rubbing alcohol (70% or whatever), but is that stuff dangerous? Nintendo told me to use Simple Green, but that stuff is gross.

Anyone have some good tips for keeping gaming/electronic equipment clean? Aside from not using it at all.

Isoproply(I think thats how it's spelled) Alcohol, aka rubbing alcohol should be fine. You know those little disc cleaning kits you buy at gamestop with the thing to hold the cd and the little circular thing? They use a 50/50 rubbing alcohol/water mix or atleast they used to. You should be fine. That and a little goo be gone for the occasional sticker residue and you should be clean in no time.

I use :
Rubbing Alcohol (as high percentage of alc possible)
Compressed air for systems/dust
goo gone for stickers.

i just dust everywhere around my games and clean out any boxes I store carts in.
nintendo is smoking crack! Simple green would probably leave behind some bad residue.

Yeah I agree, plus SG is one of the more foul smelling cleaners, I like the smell of rubbing alcohol.

Where do they suggest using simple green?

And i am not being sarcastic with the question. FYI.

Probably not a good thing.

Bumping this for 2007.

Is it safe to clean console casing w/ alcohol? I was thinking it might corrode or crack the plastic.
