Has anyone else received the May EGM? Really nice-looking shots of Too Human by Silicon Knights (developers of Eternal Darkness and Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes on Gamecube - both fantastic games, particularly ED). I hope this games turns out to be half of what the developers say it will be because they come across as a little full of themselves to me in this article. For example:

-they claim the motion captures in the fighting surpasses Soul Calibur
-they claim the bosses will be comparable to those found in the Zelda and Metroid series
-they claim to follow the "Shakespearian model" of storytelling mixing Norse mythology and Nietzsche's writings on relativism [but its also going to lure casual gamers! - wha?]
-they claim you will have to constantly think about enemy strategy so there's no reliance on one combo a la God of War; also no annoying 'climb up the grinders' level like GoW
-there will also be multiplayer similar in quality to Phantasy Star Online
-Miyamoto and Kojima are name-dropped at least half a dozen times in the space of 10 pages as well - brilliant game development by association?

Don't get me wrong - I hope this game turns out great - I was already looking forward to it just because of how much I loved Eternal Darkness - but they build up some pretty steep expectations in the course of this interview. Check it out if you get the chance.

I also read the article. Ya, they do build it up a slight bit. Gotta love their enthusiasm.

It's a very slick looking game and I hope they achieve at least half the stuff they claim.

I haven't read the article, (it is EGM after all), but I find it hard to compare one single game with Metal Gear, Phantasy Star and God of War. Regardless, what I've read and what I've seen elsewhere make this a launch day title hands-down.

looks cool, but its never a good idea to hype up games. Hype only means you enjoy games less when you finally do play them.

I read the article and it was hyped up a tad, but I think this game will end up great. SK is a great company and they worked with Shiggy and Kojima so they have probably learned a lot from them. If the game turns out half as good as the article says it will be, then I think it is a system seller.

With this game and Gears of War on the way, I think I will have to buy a Xbox 360 by the end of the year.

From what I have seen/read of the game, it sounds great.

Too Human Scans (http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v502/Einhanderkiller/TooHuman%20Scans/?)

Not a fan of the game design so far.... it looks like a mix of future and medieval influences. Something about fighting robots for most/all of the game doesn't sit right with me either; but I guess it fits the game's concept well.

I'm also not too excited about the controls, because I enjoy games where you actually need some skill to progress. It almost seems like the game will be too simple to play and is more of a pretty face than anything else. I hope I'm worng though.

scans looked good. I am also one of those people who are weary when they hear this much hype.

I was hyped up for this when they were making it for the bloody PS1. I just wanna play it already, damnit.

I hope they can actually pull it off this time.

Oh, here's a link to the teaser trailer.

After playing through Eternal Darkness two times, I trust these guys. I do believe that Too Human will be an awesome game, and it probably will be that game that mainstream doesn't know alot about until it releases and than it becomes a huge hit.

This is one of my top games to watch for at E3 this year. I hope we get to see a good bit of it in action.
