Crossbeam Studios are Planning 3 for the Revolution --- Apr 13th 1:35 pm CDT
posted by MattEnglish

New information about one of Crossbeam Studio's planned Revolution titles, Thorn has been released. The action/adventure game plans to have it all. Exploration, swordplay, space combat, and shooting can all be found somewhere in Thorn. The Revolution's unique control will be taken advantage of for it.The game plans to have a massive amount of gameplay and many different elements combined into one action packed adventure. It will take place in a future world, entangled with the occult.

In a recent interview with Revolution Fanboy, new details on Thorn were announced.

The game plans to have a very user defined style of play. While on your journey, you meet people who offer information to you. These people can join you on your quest, and who you roll with will affect the play of the game. This makes for a different game everytime you play, giving it great replay value.

Hmm... FPS, horror, and now action/adventure. So far we're doing pretty good avoiding the gimmicky games. Though I doubt most of those will get any news till preview builds are sent around a week before they're released.

Wow, now that is what I call a small/indie developer. Hope they can handle three games in development at once (Orb and Darkness in addition to Thorn).

http://www.crossbeamstudios.com/about.shtml

CSE was formed in 1999 by a group of friends in high school to create PC games. That's it, there was no higher calling and back then, we just wanted to try it

Today, CSE has staff working on developing and/or designing multiple projects for various platforms, most notably, Nintendo Revolution. We are striving to create games that can introduce the player to new worlds and new adventures. We want to tell great stories with innovative gameplay and memorable characters.

You will not find us whining about polygon counts or bragging about the number of enemies we throw at you in a single scene, there's more important things for us as developers. While we'll get you the graphics needed for the best possible experience, there's more to that experience than what your eyes and ears tell you, and we aim to incorporate those other parts of you, you sense of touch, your brain, even your emotions.

I don't understand why they're making so many projects with such few people. Seems really stupid to me.

I have a feeling, of the three games we've heard about so far, this will be the worst.

One of the guys from this "company" posted about Thorn a while back at Penny Arcade. They have no devkit, no confirmation that Nintendo will even let them have one, and all they have is couple concept drawings. Take this with a grain of salt, it's amazingly easy to get a press release and some interviews out there.
