He can't access the site right now, so he asked me to post this through AIM...

This afternoon, Cag stopped working without any warning. I just figured the site was temporarily down, sowe went out to eat, but it still isn't back up. Every website I know of works, but Google's homepage is slow, and I can't get to any part of CAG at all. Firefox times out every time I try to navigate to CAG- the forums or the homepage.
He said IE can't manage it either, so I'd assume it's not browser-related. Maybe HOSTS file, but I'm not quite sure what's going on.

Anyone have any advice for me to relay to him?

This is his blue pill.

He would be better off taking it and waking up tomorrow morning with no knowledge whatsoever of The CAG. He is not ready for The Real World yet.

Did he try to power cycle his router if he has one? I had a similar problem before and that worked for me.

Spyware?
Yeah, no spyware. And besides...spyware that just blocks CAG and Google?

Well, everything works but CAG... And power cycling our modem would fuck it up. We have wireless, and there's three other computers connected via wireless, and it's a bitch to reconnect them.
So...any more suggestions?

Has he tried any other browsers? Maxthon? Opera?

Has he simply tried restarting his PC?

Has he checked his firewall? Internet privacy options?

Has he tried connecting through CAG without a firewall on?

Has he tried connecting through a proxy?

Has he tried connecting through an anonymizer?

IE doesn't work, I'm not DLing Opera.

Restarted.. Twice.

This was sudden, I don't know why my firewall would block just CAG.

And no, I won't try without my firewall.

oh, got in through a Proxy.

Thanks for your help.

Other help welcomed, of course. No logging in is happening, obviously, so there's still an issue.

Has he installed any software between the last time things worked properly and now?

His firewall settings or his router settings could be messed up. That's my guess.

I installed Battlefield Vietnam last night, and the Point of Existance mod this afternoon, but I think CAG was working after I did so.

His firewall settings or his router settings could be messed up. That's my guess.

I tried to access it on our other computers, no dice. It may be the router, but spontaniously refusing just CAG? I dunno.

Thanks, any other suggestions?

I just thought of something. Try accessing CAG's mobile forum version: that version contains no scripts or gizmos that might be looping or malfunctioning, causing your time-out's.

Neither he or I know what you're talking about. Sorry, could you elaborate on where I could find such a thing?

Also, as a note, he tried cheapyd.com, no dice.

Well, guess what fixed this mess? As I was typing along to Rocko, the Firefox update window popped up, and said it finished updating. Once FireFox restarted, I could log into here, and now all of my websites are working and at the right speed. Thanks, guys for the help, Rocko and Walrus especially. <3 :D Mods, close and lock as needed.

Perhaps Archive is the better word.
