My vote goes to Tony Hawk's American Sk8land... got it for my brother for X-Mas and he never opened it. I played it for a couple days and I love it. Has a great look and it is fun to play. I tried the wifi with no success though. I really like the visual style of it and want to see it improve. Shows something like say an action game can be done this way.

I think it got shadowed by the release of Mario Kart DS. Now it is $20 at Best Buy... think there is a coupon floating around too. I do wish a few things are added in future versions.

The ability to say draw your own clothing could be cool. Or even your face. Maybe even like an Animal Crossing feel. You have these missions anyway. Say you have this neighborhood with people. YOu make friends and stuff. Trade decks and what not. Make your own house that has ramps and what not inside.

I think also drawing the graphiti straight on the wall would be cool instead of just pasting a texture in certain spots.

I love this game. My favorite version of Tony Hawk since #2.

I haven't played it, but Mario & Luigi 2. Haven't really heard many people rave about it like they did the first one.

Phoenix Wright. I know everyone is all hot for it now that it's hard to find, but when it came out it was almost totally ignored and received mediocre scores in EGM( not sure about other mags). While the game has its problems, the writing is clever and it's a nice change from standard game formulas (old school adventure baby).

having never played the PC game, I'd say Age of Empires . I liked it better that Advance Wars DS

EGM really seems to dislike the DS, punk ass tricks. I'm going to go pick up Sk8land today, woooo.

Sk8land is definitely underrated, its the only DS game I've been playing for the last month or so (though Im getting Metroid soon).

Asphalt: Urban GT is awesome as well. It seems like no one else has played this game but i highly recomend it. Its like a watered down Gran Turismo but the racing is like Burnout, real cars that you buy and soup up and the races are very fun.

Sprung.

Of course I love old-school point-n-click adventure games. There are some game-cripplingly hard puzzles, but I wanted to progress so much with the story that I figured out that madness after a lot of hard work. Also, the scenario has surprisingly numerous branches for this type of game.

I really wanted to check it out, but that glitch with the saving scared me away from it.

I say Feel the Magic... it does alot of stuff most games wont touch on, so it stands its own ground even if it dosn't amaze anyone... and also Sk8land... I haven't played it yet, but everything about it sounded very impressive. I'm waiting for a price drop though.

I completely agree with you, although I'm sure I'm alone in that. It could be that I got it at Target for less than five dollars, but I think it's a much better "game" than its reviews would have you believe. Sure, it's little more than a flashy Choose-Your-Own-Adventure, but there is some good comedy.

I liked Feel the Magic a lot, too.

I have put a lot of hours into and it has frozen twice. I was angry and stopped playing the game for a couple weeks, but you just have to save it often and I havent had anything to worry about since.

I say Ford Racing 3 and Fifa 05 are really good, but I am going to have to agree with Tony Hawk. It really is the game in the series I think.

I'd vote for Kirby Canvase Curse. This game got some decent reviews, but most people (reviewers and buyers) blew it off as a novelty. I think the game has tons of orginality, is well designed for different skilled levels, as level length just about right, and TONS of replayability. Definitely a shining jewel that lots of folks miss becuase they don't give it more than 5 minutes.

Lost in Blue. I really dig the whole exploration and survival aspect of it all. It is an immensely satisfying experience that I have spent more time on than any other DS game so far.

Yeah, I didn't get to play much of it, but the game was a lot of fun. People that haven't checked it out definitely should.

I'd also like to suggest Trauma Center: Under the Knife. I loved it, and I know a few people on CAG have played it, but most of my friends blew it off and never tried it.

Then again, I heard it was Atlus' best selling game last year, so maybe it isn't under appreciated after all. Whatever. HEALING TOUCH!

See I don't really feel those games were underrated, but more or less under sold their market. TH games are huge sellers and I don't think did very well on the DS which sucks. It is really a great little game. I recorded Homer's "Woohoo and Doh!" for my voice.

There are things they can do to advance it, so we will see if there is a sequal.

i think they should make an online game with some kinda voice chat. i mean, why have a microphone if youre not going to do anything with it other than talk like a stupid idiot to a dog, and blow in it to shoot "bubbles", etc.

Metriod Prime Hunters does have voice chat in the lobby area... look for that to be expanded in the future.

Metroid Prime Pinball and Sk8land were both excellent games that just didn't seem to get enough press.

seconded. before tetris ds was released, zookeeper was the only game I played consistently.

Trace Memory.

Most just wrote it off as some stupid half-baked RPG... but if you played it, it was very "outside the box".

Example : At one point you need to stamp something with multiple stamps, you see paper below, and one of stamp icons above... at first you're like WTF? Then you do something unexpected, you close the lid. And see that its 1/3 stamped, close it 2 more times and it complete a puzzle.

Honestly, it was one of the most innovative things I've seen since Psycho Mantis told me I like Castlevainia.
