In general, how's the condition of preowned games from EB or Gamestop been like for those who've purchased online? Huge YMMV?

If it arrives in terrible/unacceptable shape, can it be returned to a store or does it have to be sent back ( if that option even exists)? The return policy doesn't really mention used games.

I've gotten some utterly craptacular games from EB in the past - and that was when they guaranteed case and manual (not that they guaranteed those would be in half decent condition though!). One time I was able to switch a game out at a local EB, but that is very YMMV. I don't know about sending them back to ebgames.com though.

I would do this if they allowed Edge card online and had free shipping still. But without those options AND the risk I take in getting crappy copies, forget it...

It depends. Some of the stuff I have gotten in the past are pretty much like-new while some of them are disc only (that is scratched up).

You can return online purchases instore (I haven't done so myself but I have seen a few confirmation from members here).

Gamestop is a crapshoot. I've gotten games that were mint and looked liked the plastic wrap had only been ripped off. I've also gotten a game that came in 3 pieces and was still missing a piece.

Having a list of all used games doesn't seem to work ever since they merged the site (unless I'm doing something wrong). Looking at the selection, there are like 15 $17.99 games but if you do a specific search on a game not listed it's actually in stock.

If this was instore, I think games would fly off the shelves. Last time with the b2g1f sale, I saw this guy buy something like 30 games. Not sure why he would want 4, 5 copies of budokai 2, etc.

And about returning games bought online, I've had trouble before. Exchanging for another copy of the same game is fine but when you want to return it they seem hesitant to do it.

They are all going back to the B&M this Thursday...

All my games were disc only except for Gallop Racer.

MGS2: Substance wont even load up on my PS2.
