View Full Version : Could Hudson's new "Flight Game" be Pilotwings?

“Flight Game” - Nintendo Revolution - Take to the skies in a way never before experienced on any home console. Using the Revolution’s “Gesture System” built into their innovative controller, Hudson’s new “Flight Game” allows total plane control as players pilot their planes through various acrobatic flight maneuvers ranging from sky artistry to bomb drops.
Interesting points of fact:
1. Nintendo likes to loan its liscenses out to third parties from time to time.
2. Hudson has already had a hand in one of Nintendo's closest franchises by working on the Mario Party series.
3. That description just SCREAMS Pilotwings, and as for the bomb drops, PW64 had an atack gyrocopter (remember fighting that 50 ft Hawk cyborg in the small recreation of the USA?).

PGC.com more or less "confirmed" that this isn't Pilotwings.
However, on digg.com a few weeks ago, Pilotwings was "confirmed" by a source...I'm not going to track down the link, but I read that.
Pilotwings would be the absolute most perfect game to A) show off the power of the system (the N64 version STILL has some of the best graphics ever, which HUGE draw-in distances), and B) is suited to the controller.
Additionally, I just read in the PGC.com forums that NiGHTS is supposedly in development, or is at least speculated by some UK magazine...
So there you have it: "Flight Game," "Pilotwings," AND "NiGHTS" all possibly in development.
Wangmote is going to fly all over the place, including your mom.

=( Hudson should make Pilotwings anyway, even if another company has already finished it. I'd buy both of them, two Revolutions, and two Wangmotes™ so I could pleasure myself beyond all comprehension.
As a sidenote, Nintendo should sell those remotes proportionally to wiener size. Mine would be knocking over table-lamps and Chinese people all day long.

That's what the next Katamari game should be. Wangmote Damacy. Just lots of blockhead people screaming at the site of massiveness, brought down without mercy, to ensare mortals under the great wangness, and propel the pulsating body into the great beyond.
"Ho ho, we were very naughty! And we liked it."

The NiGHTS rumor came from this week's Famitsu, will be interesting to see if it pans out.
Flight game sounds interesting, as does Pilotwings.. I wonder what else we'll be seeing that we haven't been told about..

That has to be the funniest sig yet, RF.

I was thinking the same thing...
NiGHTS would be awesome on the Revo... it was great on the Saturn.

Some people might lose theirs...not me, though. I'm pretty sure I'd love the system so much that my controller would act more like a surf board.
And yeah...WTF was up with that giant, robotic Hawk?

I'm not sure, I just remember he was destroying a town or something somewhere in what would've been Kansas in the real US and you had to missle his ass and land. Man, good times.

Oh, I remember it...I was just asking what the Hell [I]was]/i] that? So fucking weird.

Hmmm, a lot of talk about the N64 version. I kinda thought that game blew. However, the SNES pilotwings was/is one of the best games ever. Make a new pilotwings, and then when I buy it unlock the SNES one on the VC for free. That would make me very, very happy.
Anyone else kinda creeped out when RF and Strell just keep replying to each other's posts? It's like watching siblings fight... or conspire against the rest of mankind.
The Pilotwings rumor is from this months EGM iirc.

I think it just confirms that they are in fact sitting in the same computer lab somewhere in Hot Mario outfits waiting to snipe the first reply to the other's post.

Computer lab? No.
Hot Mario costume? Yes.
My doomsday device has to do with hockey sticks, glue, gallons of conditioner, John Carmarck, a juicer, and luscious, luscious jelly.
In that order.

Heresy! Utter heresy!

... I've got yummy cookies and delicious pies, Daroga. I think you should come pay me a visit. Alone...

Just biding time, waiting until all of you have forgotten, and then SPLAT. That jelly is going to be flying all over the place. Just wait. The perfect beauty of The Plan will be enough to blow your minds up. If you need hints, just think about how Freddy Mercury sung ALL of Bohemian Rhapsody by himself.
Ironically enough, though, I spend some of my morning in a computer lab finishing up my class work.

To me, it just feels like a glorified tech-demo. Not that it's bad, but much like Yoshi's Touch and Go on the DS, there just felt like they're should've been more to it, or it needed a month or two more in refinement. The controls just feel squishy, which really bites when compared to the tight, refined controls of the SNES one. It could very well have been rushed at the end--being one of two launch titles for the 64. They should've just let Mario carry that system on his own for a while and left P64 in the oven just a bit longer.
That being said, I like pie and cookies. I'll be over in a bit.
