So I've come to find out that my little sister has been playing my SNES. That's all well and good of course, a younger generation appreciating the finer points of the mid-90's, and things should be harmonious. Problem is, she's been using my model 2 SNES which has a wonky pin connector. To get it to work you sometimes have to flip the power siwtch on and off... Anyone who owns an SNES knows what this can do to your games. Long story short:
Earthbound with the Gutsy Bat and Sword of Kings- gone.
Mario RPG with the Jump Jacket (obtained by super jumping 100 times in a row)- gone.
Super Mario World cleared with all exits and secret world completed- gone.

I don't know how much weeping it will take to get over this. It's not just the time I put into those games; they're a piece of my childhood. It's like someone erased part of my past .

Solution: Virtual Console Rev + Giving SNES to foolish mortal sister. And then instructing her to twitchingly look over her shoulder every seconds. For the reckoning.

You can administer some sort of ass kicking if you'd like. I'd suggest calling Reggie. I hear that is one of two things he does.

Reggie told me to wrap the AV cords around my wrist and beat her in the face with the attatched unit. Of course, this will require some degree fo stealth, so I'm going to distract her with Klazy Anime Eyes™ before starting the symphony of madness.

This will not, however, bring back the August days I spent being entranced by the Happy Happyists, Beach Bums, and Overzealous Cops. It will not revive the winter breaks spent guiding Mario safely to the end of Butter Bridge, or Soda Lake. ....Excuse me, I must have somethig in my eye.

Had you even touched these games in the last 10 years? If not, I think you're complaining for nothing. These would've sat and collected dust. At least someone else is able to have fun with them. I couldn't care less if my old Zelda saved game still exists or not.

Just out of curiosity, are you sure those saves were in place before she played them? And are you sure that you can create new saves that actually last?

Also, some are on their way out but not completely dead. Mario RPG deleted my save at smithy, and then deleted it again when I completed the first quarter or so of the game.

My snes has no problems at all and the games weren't removed from the system during those times either.

Your SNES saves are gonna be gone sooner or later anyways. Unless you change their batteries now, the old ones are gonna die most likely in a few years.

I once wanted to find out what happened when I took out a cartridge during the "Do not remove cartridge or turn off game system" screen.....with Earthbound. I was like 10 and was pretty far into the game..

I usually play my favorite SNES games at least once every month or so because I heard that it keeps the batteries from crapping out, so I know they were still there. I'm being slighty facetious about this anyway. I mean, it's my little sister after all.
I just figured most of the people who view this forum could understand the pain of having your hardwork erased (especially when you were younger).

I was never able to get the 100 jumps in a row. I think I got to around 22 before the timing changed and screwed up my button pressing. Mario World shouldn't take too long, but the other ones will probably take forever to recreate.

I erased my brothers Dragon Warrior save when we were younger...it happens. And what's with the mustachioed avatars? It looked like the alter ego of the OP replied all of a sudden.

I understand about the Super Mario World one. I had a save with all exits (including the secret world) cleared, and a friend of mine erased it.
