Haven't seen this posted, so I thought I'd do it.

I just got back from a local Blockbuster and noticed an awesome sign on the front. It said Buy any previously viewed movie or video game and get 50 percent off the sticker price. Obviously, this is one deal you can't pass up.

Games I saw that I can remember:
Simpson's Hit & Run (PS2) originally priced at $14.99 - $8.50 after deal
Castlevania: Lament of Innocence (PS2) originally priced at $19.99 - $10 after deal
Mace Griffin (PS2) originally priced at $14.99 - $8.50 after deal
Several Xbox, PS2 and Cube sports titles priced at $19.99 - $10 after deal

There were a lot more, and this was just a small Blockbuster I happened to go by, but I drove by a bigger Blockbuster on the way home and saw the same sign so, this should be a national deal going on.

It seems that this deal may be YMMV, but it didn't seem that way. I mean they had a sign that covered almost three window panes, two Blockbusters had these deals going on and a store clerk confimed it's not BOGO. So I know this deal is legit.

At the one I went to, the most expensive games I saw were like $20 ($10 after the deal). I don't know if they were pilfered earlier for their better games, though.

There are three blockbusters near me that are doing this too. However, I asked about it and it is because they are closing a bunch of stores down. This must be a big collective effort, but the bad news means that once this is done the store is shutting down. So get on in while you can. One blockbuster by me is so far along in the process that they are not renting anymore, they are soley open to sell off everything in the store.

not every game comes with the original case and instructions....some games come with bs blockbuster cases, while some come with no instructions, and some come with both....thats the downside of all of this...but the good thing is, blockbusters return policy is without a doubt one of the best...for us...they really dont care, just tell them the game didnt work right, it was skipping, etc...keep the receipt and come back within (i think) 30 days

the guy types in the computer and says they dont carry that game.......

I tell him theres 3 display boxes over on the shelf. So obviously they carry it. I just wanted to know if any where coming in anytime soon or if they had any hiding behind the desk.

Actually they might be right....there was a Lord of the Rings: ROTK box in the rental section at the blockbuster near me and I asked when it could come back in and they said they don't carry it anymore. I was very surprised but when I checked the game on the website and told it to look at that location it confirmed that the store doesn't carry it anymore. Funny thing is they still have Two Towers and Fellowship....they have ROTK pre-owned only. Makes no sense to me, but they may have done something similar in your store.

when you buy a used game from blockbuster ask for a real game case, they usually have them behind the counter, and ask for a manual. If they are cool they will pull one from the rental copies. I got my Max Payne 2 in a green case with instructions, you would never know it was a blockbuster copy.
